You are right private school is an option, which I plan on moving my child to after experiencing Flint Hill Elementary. I have experienced other public schools in GA, (Britt Elementary, which won State Customer Service Award). Just because there are budget cuts doesn't mean we have to lower our standards for public school education. Our children are individuals, what may be a great school for one child, may be not be so great for another. So parents, try not to take it personal if the next parent does not agree that your child's school is the best educational institution.
I wasn't going to post anything here but I just read a parents previous complaint. I have been to Flint Hill school functions and attending confences with my sons teachers, they are all wonderful, detailed and always have his best interest at hand. I have never had a bad experience nor my son, if anything, he comes home and raves about his teachers how wonderful they are to him. Just this weekend I was talking to him about his academics and projections in the future and excelling, he informed me that his teacher has already had this talk with the class, kudo's to her and all of the staff at Flint Hill. We moved up here from Florida over two years ago and academically the school is on a higher level than the Florida schools, they are minimumal and pass you through to the next grade to be someone elses problem. Parents have to do their part and help these teachers who are overwhelmed, overworked, dealing with budget issues and come out of pocket for classroom expenses. Private school is an option if you don't like public schools.
A wonderful school with an exceptional faculty. Students are focused on learning and bridging achievement gaps
