I was scared at first of Fulton county school but now that my son has went there for a year I love this school the teachers are awsome and they make everyone feel welcome i am very happy with Palmetto Elem. I had said that we might move but my son loves it and so do I so we will be here until he goes to middle school
Palmetto has improved greatly in the last couple of years. This is not the easiest place to live and the parent invovlement is not the greatest, but the teachers are outstanding and work hard to provide a quality education. Also the administration strives to provide a solid foundation on which to build a quality school. The new PTA this year has been great and has done a great job and has also contributed to helping turn around the atmosphere of the school. I am glad my children attend.
The administration lacks (in my opinion)the necessary efficiency to adequately operate this school. Check out the CRCT scores for the 2006-2007 school year. There needs to be some form of investigation and not just in-house. Advice to parents of future students: beware especially if you have an AP or TAG student.
I think that Palmetto Elementary School needs to have a good look at themselves. The turn over of staff is outrageous, and many of the teachers do not seem happy with the administraiton of the school and there is not a lot of support for students, parents or teachers. They do not do a good job of keeping the teachers that truly care for students and want to see the best in them. I am sick of seeing these students have subsititute teachers so often that are not qualified to teach!
I have a 5th, 4th, & 3rd grader. My kids have been @ Palmetto for 2 yrs. I like the school and my kids seem to enjoy it a lot. The teachers that my now 4th grader has had the 2 yrs he has been here they have challenged him in my opinion to his full potential. Even though they do have a teacher shortage the individuals that are there filling in are doing an excellent job and they take the job of educating the kids very seriously. I must say that I am happy that I made the choice to move to Palmetto.
With this being the first year my sons have attended Palmetto Elem I am not pleased with the school. I feel it's overcrowded and not enough expericenced teachers that don't know what to do.They need to put another school in this district. They don't respond to problems in a timely matter.
My daugters went to Palmetto elementary for the 2004-05 school year and they Loved It an so did I. One child was in the 5th Grade and the other in 3rd. Both of there Teachers where great! The extracurricular activities were wonderful My daughter was able to take band and chours and excell. The parent involvment is getting better everyday. The Children at Palmetto elementary feel every safe and know that the Teachers are looking out for they best intrest. Parent Sabrina J
