Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Palmetto Elementary School is awesome! Mrs. Bowens and I joined the Palmetto Eagle family at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. This is why we absolutely love Palmetto Elementary School....... -Students: We come to work daily to provide them with a quality education. Everything we do centers around making sure our students reach their full potential. -Parents: Our parents are very supportive. We work together as a team to make sure our students are successful. -Teachers: We are fortunate to have teachers who are highly qualified, dedicated, but most importantly, truly care about students. -Administrative Team: We all lead by example. We are dedicated to serving as effective instructional leaders, and it s refreshing to know that the members of this team have the same work ethic and level of dedication to improving student achievement as I have. --Clerical Staff: From the bright smile you ll receive from our front desk secretary, to the professional and caring demeanor of our bookkeeper, clinic aide, and data clerk, you ll discover we have an awesome group of employees who make up our team of clerical employees. Mrs. Millen - Principal

As a first year teacher, I had an AWESOME experience at Palmetto Elementary School! The administrative staff as well as my fellow colleagues were extremely supportive. The administrative staff is always very transparent in everything they do. The teachers are well informed as well as the parents. I had some of the BEST parents this year! They were always willing to lend a helping hand and were very eager to participate! The students absolutely LOVE coming to school!! Way to go Palmetto for creating an atmosphere that instills of love of learning into each of its students.

I had three students that attended this past school year and one more student coming in the following yr. The school its self is great as well as most of the teachers, I truly believe and encourage parents to get involve in school as much as possible and you will see a big difference with your child's education. As parents we sometimes forget our part in our children's education and expect teachers to work wonders with our kids...

My son just completed his Kindergarten year here at Palmetto Elementary. His teacher was fantastic in keeping the lines of communication open between she and I, which is extremely important to me. From what I have seen in the first year, the faculty and staff actually do care a great deal about the students and their continued learning, and not just passing them on to the next grade. The future looks great so far!

Palmetto has improved greatly in the last couple of years. This is not the easiest place to live and the parent invovlement is not the greatest, but the teachers are outstanding and work hard to provide a quality education. Also the administration strives to provide a solid foundation on which to build a quality school. The new PTA this year has been great and has done a great job and has also contributed to helping turn around the atmosphere of the school. I am glad my children attend.

The administration lacks (in my opinion)the necessary efficiency to adequately operate this school. Check out the CRCT scores for the 2006-2007 school year. There needs to be some form of investigation and not just in-house. Advice to parents of future students: beware especially if you have an AP or TAG student.

I think that Palmetto Elementary School needs to have a good look at themselves. The turn over of staff is outrageous, and many of the teachers do not seem happy with the administraiton of the school and there is not a lot of support for students, parents or teachers. They do not do a good job of keeping the teachers that truly care for students and want to see the best in them. I am sick of seeing these students have subsititute teachers so often that are not qualified to teach!

I have a 5th, 4th, & 3rd grader. My kids have been @ Palmetto for 2 yrs. I like the school and my kids seem to enjoy it a lot. The teachers that my now 4th grader has had the 2 yrs he has been here they have challenged him in my opinion to his full potential. Even though they do have a teacher shortage the individuals that are there filling in are doing an excellent job and they take the job of educating the kids very seriously. I must say that I am happy that I made the choice to move to Palmetto.

With this being the first year my sons have attended Palmetto Elem I am not pleased with the school. I feel it's overcrowded and not enough expericenced teachers that don't know what to do.They need to put another school in this district. They don't respond to problems in a timely matter.
