I agree with the posotive reviews of this school. I have two children and education is rated way up there in my household. These children are receiving wonderful care in education and discipline and the principal is one of the largest reasons for it. The teachers are exceptional and the school is well balanced and high achieving.

Knowing that last year is was the first year i am going to try to be fair, but at the same time these are still our kids futures whether the school is new or not. I even attempted contacting the councelors many times and never heard back from them.

I am extremely disappointed with the huge achievement gap in mathematics. The principal needs to examine why there is such a large gap in achievement and begin to put in corrective action.

I agree with the 6th grade parent concerning the personality of the principal and the inconsistencies with discipline practices/policies. If we want to continue to close the achievement gap via NCLB, then schools should also look at closing the gap in the discipline systems. It's important for teachers o keep parents involved before referring students to the administrative team.

This was Lovinggood's first year and my child was a 6th grader. I found the principal to be arrogant and unapproachable. The 6th grade teachers were VERY GOOD and they exceeded my expectations. Extracurricular activites were good considering 2006-2007 was the first year. Discipline was spotty - some offenses were severely punished and others were not - Administration is not consistant. Overall I would give the school a solid B for their first year. Wonderful teachers are the primary reason for the grade.

My child has had a wonderful experience at LMS. I've been especially impressed with the 7th grade science teachers, and the art teacher at Lovinggood. It's a great environment, and all faculty are completely devoted to our kids. Way to go LMS!

I transfered my daughter from another middle school that was failing according to the 'No child left behind' law for her 8th grade year, and I am pleased with the level of instruction at Lovinggood. My daughter who is in all the advanced content classes, was challenged but at the same time, the amount of homework was adequate. The PTA is very active and keeps communicating with the community via e-mail regularly. In summary, I would recommend lovinggood.
