At the age of 3, when questioned by her grandfather about why she asked so many questions, my precocious granddaughter responded very sincerely with, "Because I want to know EVERYthing." Now, 14 years later, that granddaughter is a senior and her younger sister is a sophomore. Both have attended Rabun Gap as day students since 6th grade, and from the moment they first set foot on campus for their day of "shadowing" another student, they felt at home. They are bright young ladies who were bored and felt muzzled in local public schools. Rabun Gap has nurtured their naturally inquisitive spirit. At RGNS, it's not only okay for students to question "why," it's encouraged. The school has an excellent curriculum (15 AP courses), highly educated faculty that care about the students, and a teacher to student ratio of 8:1. Not only are my granddaughters receiving an excellent college prep education, RGNS fine arts program provides a beautiful outlet for their creative energies. The school's Cirque program has fed their need for dance and drama. If you don't know anything about this school, it would be more than worth your while to visit their website.

This school is excellent beyond compare. Our son hated public school due to being picked on by other kids in 4th grade. His self esteem was fading. We home schooled in 5th grade and he did quite well. It was his wish to attend RGNS. We are now the parents of a happy, brilliant young man who has self esteem galore. He loves school and the challenges it provides. He likes his teachers and coaches. His face still lights up when talking about his school day. He is a self motivated kid who wakes up early every morning, jumps out of bed, puts on the uniform of the day and runs off to his carpool. For the first time in several years he is comfortable with his peers and likes that striving for excellence is the norm instead of the oddity. I love this school and all that it is providing.

This school is fantastic. No reason or hesitation to send my son and daughter there. Keep up the great work. Teachers and programs are amazing!

Rabun Gap has changed our dinner table conversations. School was never a topic of interest until my son came to RGNS. Now all he talks about is science experiments, Cirque, his Geography teacher... He's gone from an underachiever to an honor roll student. Even though the demands are high, he now loves learning!

My son also was not realizing his full potential and beginning to head down what would have been a slippery slope to life of nothing. He was able to repeat some course work, raise his average to qualify for hope. He too has great self esteem now and seems to be at peace. For the first time he is interested, has goals, and is in the great Cirque program.

This is my sophmore son's first year as a boarding student at Rabun Gap. He had attended public high school where he would study 10 mins daily and make the honor roll. He played video games constantly. He began to get into trouble and fall into bad habits. He is very bright. I know that poor decisions at this age can lead to a life of misery. We visited this school where he took an entrance test and did quite well. He was offered a partial scholarship and reluctantly was on his way. He has progressed more in 1 year at this school in his academics, social skills, and personal self-esteem than in his entire career at public school. The campus and its facilities are spectacular. Surrounded by mountains, fresh air, and a friendly, peaceful environment, this school is a safe haven for my child.
