This school year 2012-2013 at Smith has proven to be the year of the fake it til you make it. We have been mislead by a Principle that makes everything look great with tutoring programs where the teachers are not even in the room, party every Friday with money raised to be spent on more parties and not educational activities, no real plan to get test scores up, but try efforts to say we put basketball and cheerleading in this school. The teachers must know that they can get away with this sorry ability to teach with no one learning anything, for them to put fake grades in gradebook that does not match the very low CRCT scores. The Special ED program is the only thing worth keeping the doors at Smith open.

My school is fun. We have many activities. More than you can count. The education is good as well. We learn in a fun way and actually your child will have fun and not even realize that your child is learning so much.
It is hard not to compare previous leadership to the current, but after having such great leadership from Ms. Rhudaseal you expect it. Unfortunately we have yet to see the same display from the principals we've had the last 5 years! I have had two children attend to this school and sadly had to watch the standards decline! I hope the school can get back to the Greatness that once flooded the hallways!

My daughter is finishing kindergarten, splitting her time between specialized autism services and a mainstream classroom. I have been incredibly pleased with the services, teacher support, learning opportunities and overall sense of community at Smith. My daughter's teachers, her parapros, and principal Mrs. Brictson have demonstrated great professionalism while also being friendly and accessible to parents and students alike. I've seen the students in both her classrooms make great progress over the course of the year. Call me pleasantly surprised, given the county's negative publicity overall, but I think Smith is a school to be proud of and it's on track to keep improving. We're happy to be returning next year.

Thanks to the entire staff at Smith Elementary. Special thanks to Ms. Banks for all your hard work and dedication because of you my son is now equipped for middle school. A solid foundation is a must in order to be successful in life and he has received that at Smith. My son has been in attendance at Smith since Kindergarten and each grade along the way has been a success!

I have 4 kids that attend Smith Elementary and I must say I am so pleased. Mrs. Rudeseal and the entire teaching staff are absolutely wonderful. Being a Principal is not an easy job but I must say that Mrs. Rudeseal knows each student and is interested in his/her sucess. She will go above and beyond to help any child. The teaching staff has a very strong support system amongst each other as they all work well together. I have to rate this school as outstanding.

My two sons attented R.T. Smith, it's a great school. You very seldon find principles involved in the childrens activities, but I beg the differ with you on Mrs. Rudesell she's very involved and also concerned about the well being of all students at R.T. Smith. The teachers are out of sight. Over all I would rate the school outstanding.
