I am not thrilled with the school system in the area. Your kid cannot miss school without a dr. or dds. note. So if they are vomiting, you must get a note. They place kids by timed tests. They do not have regular parent teacher conferences, you must schedule that on your own. They can receive in school suspension for the smallest offenses. I don't really know anything about the teacher since they keep parents out of the school unless they volunteer. siblings are not allowed to come, so if you have younger kids, you cannot volunteer. The classes are over crowded.
I'm very happy with RH Elementary and have no desire to send my child to a private school. They also have a very strong group of volunteers who help out the teachers.
The staff is excellent! I have never met such wonderful and caring people before. We love this school!
I really like the school, and my daughter likes it as well. The new building is nice. As far as public schools I wouldn't have my child at any other school besides here.
The new school building is beautifully design. The teachers all seem to care deeply for the children and their education. My granddaughter enjoys the extra activities that the school offers and shares with the families. Kudos!
My child has been going to RH schools since prek and she is enterin 3rd grade this year. She will be attending RHES in the new building. Her teachers have been very good all the way through. I do agree that the schools teach to the CRCT test too much and it is very stressful for my daughter. Also I think that most days there is too much homework. The school nurse at RHES and the front office staff are friendly. The after school program is wonderful. I do wish that parents were allowed in the classroom more often. I understand the need for security but in RH schools the supposed security measures are really just window dressing and serve to not allow parents access to their children. A true security threat would find a way in the school.
We moved here 6 months ago from Savannah-Chatham County schools. This school has been wonderful! I email with my son's teacher all the time!! There is a weekly 'What's Up' newsletter sent home. I visit the school monthly - the office staff is nice and freindly and the school nurse is wonderful. This truly is a Great School!
It's really interesting to see some of the responses, and then you look at the test scores. In comparison to other schools, RHES is doing a really good job in preparing these children. I recently moved and hate the fact that the schools in my area can't even touch the quality of RHES's curriculum.
I am so dissapointed in this school. Teachers dont communicate well with parents, and the homework is out of control. The sports and activities are superb.
We moved here from Franklin TN 6 months ago, and were so disappointed that we took the kids out and I am now home schooling. I hope we move soon just for the kids sake. There were things my children were seeing and hearing that no child should be aware of at their young age.
