I put my children in Wilcox County schools because I had only heard great things in years past. Now that my children are in there I do not see any of the greatness I had expected. Most everyone (staff) are nice. However, my 1st grader needs a tutor and I have been searching for over 6 months. No one in the surrounding area seems to be able to do this. I am very disappointed that the teachers here do not offer after school help when it is asked for repeatedly!

Wilcox County Elementary School shows improvements each year. I like the security, the enthusiasm, and friendliness I see when I come to this school. All schools aren't like this. I am thankful I don't have to worry about my children while I am at work. They are looked after and given an opportunity for a good education.

I think this school is a good school. The teachers work hard with the students. The principal tries to promote Accelerated Reading and Math to help. I feel my child is safe at this school. That is important to me, too.

I think we are very fortunate to have a school system like Wilcox County. When you come to the school, the administorators and teachers know your name and your child's name. You can actually talk to the principal if you have questions.

My children enjoy Wilcox Elementary. I have always seen concern shown for my children. The new principal is very organized and caring. I don't worry about my children while they are at school. I know they are looked after and are safe. All schools aren't that way.

Our children need something to do at break. They do not have enough physical activity. Only one or two weeks out of their six weeks do they get to go to the gym. At break they are not to run or play. The administration says that break is a time for fresh air not to play. Can you imagine teachers trying to keep first graders from playing? Our children need to run and play maybe they would not be so over weight. Mr. Willis is doing an exellent job with their lunches. Now we need something for our children to do at break instead of standing on a pavement. Parents this should be looked into.

My child has an awesome teacher! As a whole the teachers are wonderful! Our first woman principal has made some improvements to our school. She knows the importance of a great education. My child is happy here.

All schools have room for improvement. I do not agree with the previous parent's review. In the day and time we live in, constructive criticism is helpful and necessary for improvement. My children enjoy school and I credit much of that enjoyment to the positive experiences they've had in the classroom. I'm thankful that my children are safe and nurtured in the Wilcox County school system.
