Eastside Elementary School

Eastside is a good school with some outstanding teachers. However, there are some real problems that no one seems qualifed to address and solve. A lack of a substantive parent organization, educational field trips and challenging curriculum severely affect the school's ability to encourage excellence in learning. The school board seems focused merely on meeting standards. Parents that want to be involved and help by volunteering in the school are not utilized and feel discouraged. I don't merely want to know what my child is doing, I want to be involved. A teacher should never respond to a request for additional homework with a suggestion to homeschool the student; the student moved to another district instead.

'This is my son's first year of school and they have made it absolutely wonderful for all of us! You can tell that the staff love doing this job. This is a great school. The teachers are very good with the children and attentive to their needs. There isn't a great variety as far as extra classes. I'd really like to see more choices for our children, such as languages (spanish, french) being taught from elementary up. I felt very involved and informed while my child attended this school. They hold workshops and different parent/child activities regularly.

This is my son's second year. We are very pleased with the staff.The atmosphere surrounding this school is wonderful. I'm so glad we changed him to this school. The teachers are very supportive and caring, And the devotion they have for each child to succeed is outstanding.Thank you for being the best and helping your students / our children, be their best.

I think it is a great school. My child has been going to Eastside and has had wonderful teachers. She enjoys the school very much.
