Fellowship Christian Academy

Our kids have been at fellowship for 1 1/2 years both coming from another public elementary school in the area. Both of my kids are thriving! They both feel loved by the teachers, are learning more than in the public schools, have had to make friends, which is not always easy but they have, and they both are learning more about God, his plan, and how to treat people than they were. Now when my husband explain respect or how to treat others my kids understand and respond differently because all day the teachers teach the same message. We are thrilled!

Definitely cliqueish atmosphere. The admin was very snooty about our daughter being a little shy. She is a straight a student! We are going elsewhere. We had two teachers here and I was not at all happy with either one. We have been to other private schools in another state and everything was run better and much cleaner.

We have been at FCS since 1999. We have had one to graduate and our last child is a senior. Is the school perfect? NO, but I haven t found a place that is yet. What Fellowship offers is a quality education with great teachers who know their field of study, who love what they do, and who encourage your child to be and do more than they ever thought possible. My family has seen many changes over the years and most were wonderful and they opened up many new doors for our students. As with anything else there are always things that can be improved. FCS makes a concerted effort to correct things that don't work while improving the things that do work. What more could a parent want than an academically challenging environment, caring talented teachers who know and love God and a place where you child can excel.

My daughter has been at this school for 4 years. She was welcomed the first day by students with questions and interest in her. She is now active as a cheerleader. We have been very happy with the teaching styles, the school staff and the other students. FCS holds their students to a high standard, and they are proud to be a part of such a school. We LOVE this school! Thanks FCS!

I believe this school to offer exactly what it says it will. There are no hidden agendas. The pre-1st program has been a blessing to many families for over 20 years. It has nothing to do with the child's intellect - it just gives them the additional time they may need socially. My child had 'issues' that needed to be addressed and this class gave him the gift of time. The main reason for being at this school is to give your child a Bible-based Christ-filled education - period. The school has problems academically just like all private schools, but they are being addressed constantly. I have had children here for 9 years and my heart overflows when I think back at all the wonderful teachers, children and events! We even celebrate Christmas!

Fellowship does a great job nurturing young students spiritually and academically. More freedom is given in Middle and High School as the students are prepared leave the home and go to college. The High School has a growing fine arts program and excellent athletics. The 3 year old football program has eight coaches, all but three having professional football coaching and or playing experience. These coaches work hard to build character in the student athletes. Fellowship is not an elitist private school like some of the ones mentioned in the negative comments, it is a great place for your child to get a Christian world view while obtaining a great academic and social experience. There are many great places for parents to volunteer and get involved in the school. This will prevent the feeling of 'cliques' that some have mentioned. We have tried other schools and Fellowship is the best.

Highly overrated and engaging in deceptive practices to boost statistics. Students are 'bumped down' one year (who ever heard of 'Pre-1st Grade??') so that they are one year advanced, giving them the advantage of a year's maturity and cognitive ability, so their test scores will be higher and overall performance will be better than competing schools. High School kids get a 'Conduct' grade - you have to burn the school down to lose a point. Guidance Counselor does nothing to assist students with college preparation or planning; students are on their own. Very poor use of classroom time, with inadequate supervision by teachers; lots of students on the Internet during school hours, with no filtering devices in place. Read the 'FCHS' blogrings out there to find out just how 'Christian' these students are. Heavily clique-oriented, elitist attitude; look elsewhere for a quality education for your child.

I think overall the school is a good school . It is good forfamilies that want a public school experience in a private school atmosphere that allows their children to worship God.It can be clickish but only if you don't make an effort to be involved. Most ofthe familes are as reserved as you may be and all you need to do to fit in is become active in the school. Introduce yourself and your children to as many members as possible. The principal of the Elementary School is a wonderful women. Some of the teachers should be teaching in public school were judgement of others is common practice.

I think the person who wrote your opening review must be a disgruntled parent because our experience over the last 7 years could not be any different! Our 3 children (including one '04 grad) have flourished spritually, socially and academically. Our child now in college is having no trouble handling a rigourous college load thanks to the advanced track at FCS. The addition of a football program this past fall has been an added blessing! I have had the pleasure of interviewing many students who have tried the public school route and happily returned to FCS. It has been the right choice for many and definately my family!

I attended Fellowship Christian Schools for over seven years. I experienced elementary, middle, and high school there. Fellowship is very exclusive to any other cultures and firmly set in strict religious principals. The teachers find a way to incorporate the most unrelated religious principles to all material studied. The teachers at fellowship were horrible and the leadership was inconsistent, and seemingly non existent. Over all fellowship is over rated and extremely overpriced. I now attend Roswell High School, and love it. Put your kids in public schools, politicians do it better than preachers.

We have had two children graduate from Fellowship Christian School in the last three years. Our children were extremely well prepared for their college experience and were accepted to all the colleges to which they had applied, both in and out of state. The Honors and Advanced Placement courses were great preparation for a smooth transition into college academics. FCS teachers took a genuine interest in both children and provided wonderful Christ-like role models for them. Even as alumni, our children have maintained relationships with some of their former teachers. Because FCS is relatively small compared to public high schools, our children had opportunities to participate in many of the sports and extracurricular programs including student government. We were extremely pleased with the well-rounded academic, spiritual, social, athletic and art programs that Fellowship offered.

Lots of changes going on currently. Academics are ok, we had some difficulties once our child entered college. Definitely cliquish, both parents and students - you need to be like them to be accepted. Definitely not for you if you want your child exposed to any diversity of thought or culture. We chose not to have our second child attend here. Administrators and teachers seem genuinely caring on the whole, one or two bad apples as in any school.

An excellent school that has been in Roswell for many years, Fellowship Christian School has has several National Merit finalists, several students appointed to one of the military academies, and has a high average SAT score. Students who apply to the University of Georgia are often granted early admission. Academically, this is a great school. Not only are the academics sound but this school also is a wonderful community. The teachers and administrators care about the individual student and strive to meet their spriritual, academic and social needs simultaneously. Students graduate with a biblical world view and many have developed a desire to reach the world for Christ.

This is the best well-rounded education there is in the Metro Atlanta area. The teachers at Fellowship are just about the best you can find. The students are challenged at all levels and above all else treasured as Children of God. Almost 100% of FCS graduates go on to attened college and do exceptionally well.

Academic standards are mainstream and typical of 'middle-of-the-road' religious schools. Standards at nearby Marist or Pope are much higher. Limited foreign language offerings. Limited extra curricular offerings. Sports teams and music programs are new and mediocre. So-called 'family' feel is for insiders only. If you or your children aren't clones of the specific religious 'attitude' at FCHS, then you'll definitely be made to feel an outsider.

This will be my childrens third year at FCA. We absoulutely love it! The environment is just not comparable to most schools. The parents are so like-minded about raising their children in a way that glorifies God. I haven't had a single child over that I wouldn't welcome back with open arms. I love the curriculum and the close family feeling at our school.
