This school has been a disappointment. We relocated to Atlanta from out of state and my son had been in a Montessori school that was wonderful. I wish I could say the same about CBMS. The communication is awful, they do not return phone calls or emails, I don't see his teacher or the director when I drop off or pick up. The doors are constantly unlocked allowing anyone to walk in to your kids building & classroom. The only time they responded to me was when I gave notice that my son was leaving the school.
Great school. Great administration. Great staff. My husband and I are very pleased with the experience at this school. Our daughter is very happy and has shown great growth. The Director is always so willing to help and the staff do a great job keeping us informed.
Do not send your child to this place. Any daycare would be better. They do not have good communication with parents. The owners only care about profit and treat their staff terrible and do not care about the families. The other school they have in smyrna is even worse. We left about 3 months. Forget about talking to anybody about your kid. They don't have time. The only time you hear anything is after something happens. They have kids who have special needs but can't deal with them and teachers who don't watch kids and they get hurt. I heard they got rid of the one lady you could know was watching out for your child. Now that she's gone I wouldn't leave my kids hamster there.
This school is a middle of the road experience. I am not sure it is worth the tuition. My child enjoys going and has kind teachers that are doing a fair job. Whenever I ask how my child is doing academically, I get the average response that he is doing well, but can't get any details. This leads me to believe that they are not really developing one on one relationships with the kids. Since my child is well behaved and likes school, he is off the radar and not really getting any attention that is above and beyond (which is what I would expect at this tuition rate and with the curriculum that is being touted). They have had a change in director from the time I enrolled my child, with Ms. Denise, to the time that the school year began. Parents were not notified until well into the fall after the new director had been in place for several months. They could use some streamlining in organization as well. I was excited at first, with the staff's friendliness and the curriculum and was looking forward to enrolling my second child. But now that the excitement has worn off, this place is OK, but not great. Will be looking for something better at this price-point.
I have two children at CBMS and have been very happy with their education. My kids LOVE going to school. The school HAS had its administrative challenges to be sure, but it never appears to affect the love and care that the teachers give the children. Also, upon first glance, the facility may not be shiny and new like some other montessori schools but the quality if the education is still there. I also LOVE that my kids get to play in the HUGE back yard. This school caters to young children but it is a school, complete with a PTO, awesome spring and fall festivals, book fairs, and other fundraisers, etc. The office staff has always been immediately responsive to any concerns. If you are looking for a purely "daycare" situation, this is not the place - it is so much more and parental involvement is key to your child's success. Finally, I LOVE the diversity at this school. I love that when we go to birthday parties, all the kids play together and get along so well. All the parents that I've met have been super nice as well. Over all, I love the school and plan to keep my kids here through kindergarten and then move them up the hill to CBA.
I would just like to say that in the last two years CBMS has improved vastly under new leadership. Ms. Kristin, Ms. Shelia and Ms. Denise have turned it back into the school it once was. My kids love Ms. Shelia. She always has a smile on her face and a hand to offer to help with whatever you need. Parents are welcomed anytime, there is constantly something new for the kids to learn, issues that arise are dealt with quickly BEFORE they become problems, the whole school has had a makeover with new equipment and such but it still maintains that same "homey" feel. The teachers really CARE about the children they teach and the whole family. I wish we could stay longer, but we are moving to CBA for 1st grade. The children seem truly happy and I visit often as a volunteer in the classroom.
Dear Prospective Montessori Parents, Hello, my name is Denise and I'm the new Director at CBMS. I welcome you to schedule a tour of our beautiful Montessori campus. It would be my pleasure to show you around our spacious 5 acre school. During your tour, please be sure to notice children with a love for learning and teachers that nurture each child as they mature academically, socially, and behaviorally. I look forward to meeting you and your family! Thank you, Denise R. Glass CBMS Director
The leadership at this school is atrocious. Thank goodness that got rid of the old director and brought in a professional. The teachers are nice enough, but they don't do a good job with kindergarten.
No one wants to talk about the real issues at this school. Think twice before sending you son or daughter here.
I am super impressed with the education my child has received at this school. She has attended for 4 years, since she was 2 years old and she has excelled on her standardized tests. The teachers are dedicated, competent, loving and nurturing. Could not have asked for a better 'community' for my child to flourish in. I will sincerely miss her going there :(
My husband and I were very happy with the care and education our daughter received at Covered Bridge Montessori. We removed her from a school we were not happy with and were immeddiately impressed with the the love our daughter received here. The turn over is very very low which tells me the teachers are appreciated and experienced. I am looking forward to our daughter starting in the Covered Bridge academy this fall.
My son, husband and I are thoroughly pleased with Covered Bridge Montessori School. The quality of teachers, passion of the staff and application of true Montessori methods is excellent. The nurturing of my son as a well rounded human being with keen problem solving skills is a result of the fine teachers we have had at CBMS and just the great kid that he is!
