Lewis Elementary is failing our children very badly. Poor classroom management skills and expecting the children to act like college students is beyond me. Didn't these new teachers understand they they were coming to teach at an elementary school. Start teaching and stop all the screaming; it only fuels the fire. Be an example of how quiet is supposed to sound. It's just like a zoo or 4th and 5th grade hall most of the time. Thank God for Mrs. Ephraim, Mrs. F. Harris, and Mrs. Roberts.

I am the grandmother/guardian of a very bright, and precocious 5th grader at this school. Overall I give it a fair rating. Staff is more concerned with students sitting still and remaining quiet, than trying to channel that energy and outspokenness into something positive.Perhaps they fail to realize that in the adult/ professional world if you are not an outgoing, outspoken person, often times you're either passed over or pushed aside. I expect great things from my grandchild, therefore I will always allow him free speech,as long as it is done in a curteous, and respectful manner. Finally, this concern to the principal. Why has this class had at least 5 teachers this school year? Are you not concerned with this situation slowing these students progress? i challenge you, the faculty to provide a more stable and challenging learning environment. Thanks!

I think that this school could be better than it is. As I have never had a child attend this school I had the opportunity to visit the school on one occasion. It is a dark l and seems to lack organization. The principal is not very friendly and seems to be very unprofessional. The school had several teachers that seemed dedicated to the school, however there were several teachers that seem unqualified and seemed to be there 'just' because'. The children seemed to be loving and longing to be helped. I think education starts from the top and moves its way down. I feel that if the principal was replaced by someone that motivated the teachers, more would come and more would stay. And with this the students could 'honestly' perform to their fullest potential.
