Agree with last couple of post. Administration will no t do anything about teachers who are weak. I have heard about coaches suspending players for alcohol but they don't realize how much is going on. Once one of our children graduates next year we will not enroll our other children. Glynn Academy seems to be a better option for HS. By the way the only bad grade my daughter made was in Freshman Spanish.

HS Spanish teacher is subpar. Students with high GPA struggle and administration will not do anything about it. In most sports the coaches cater to the rich kids and all sports will be on the decline because of new classification. Tuition much higher than other private schools. Considering transfer just because of Spanish.

Totally agree about Spanish. My daughter has never struggled in any class until now. If we had to have that teacher again we would not come back. Don't know anything about the coaches. Tuition is high.

If you are looking to pay way too much for what you get, go to this school. Some of the courses, especially Literature, are a complete waste of time. You will read books about an alcoholic father that abuses his family, old Greek mythology, and plenty of other terrible books. The students cannot stand reading the books, but are left with no other choice other than reading them. Tuition is way too high for what you get. You have to buy all of your own textbooks, which is a real pain to do. Glynn Academy beats Frederica in every single category, especially in AP Classes. If you want to go to a school that has snooty and un-accepting kids, overpriced tuition, minimal things to offer, poorly constructed classes, go to Frederica. If you want to get an awesome education for less money and be around great kids, go to Glynn.

My husband and I have been thrilled with the quality experience our son is having at Frederica Academy. First as a kindergartener and now as a first grader, we see him benefitting from the focus on Mind, Body and Spirit. The student body is supported by a strong faculty and administration. There is general agreement that education is a partnership between the educators and the parents. Families come to the school with a breadth of interests and backgrounds but all share the desire that their children will receive a quality education.

If you are looking for a college prep school where the focus is academics this is the place. We have lived all over the US and other parts of the world. The closest comparison I can make is an International School for expats abroad. The focus on academics is not only among the staff but also among the students. These are success driven students. This is an environment in which only the motivated students will survive. Very strong extra curricular activities to include trips abroad and trips to the opera. Sports up to and including golf, tennis and crew. The boys and girls soccer teams have been the Georgia Independent Schools Association AA state champions for the past two years. The boys team has more state championships than any other school in Georgia.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
