David Emanuel Academy

DEA has its pro's and con's. The pro's are that its a small environment and everyone is more like a family. Parents are encouraged to attend every event, field trip, and so on. Some of the teachers there are really dedicated to their job and their students. All students are allowed to participate in sports and cheerleading so they don't have to worry about being picked. The con's are its not the "christian" environment they advertise. You have to be a part of a "click" for your child to be invited to party's or accepted in the school. Bullying is allowed and seems to be encouraged because there are no repercussions for their actions. The children who are being bullied and their families are treated like they are the trouble makers for saying anything about it not only by the school but by other parents as well. The children are encouraged to keep their mouth shut if there is a problem. The education is behind state requirements and tutoring is not offered. Sports and play time are pushed before school work. Every other day you are asked to send money for something despite all the money you already spent on tuition. Education is not the number one priority at this school.

DEA is not doubt, the best school in our area. I graduated from DEA in 1993 and our child has been there for three now and we love it. The safety we feel and the curriculum DEA offers are very positive for us to have our child enrolled. The parent involvement is wonderful too. We like to feel a part of our childs world and DEA offers a very family like setting and parents are involved often in their childs school atmosphere. We would not have it any other way except homeschool and at DEA, he has much more interaction than at home! We love it!

My child just started DEA about two months ago and he seems to be doing so much better there. I went to public school and I always said that my children would too, but the public school system has changed! Not only will my oldest child return there next year, but my 3 year old will start the k-3 program. We love DEA, and feel like our children will be in a safe environment and that the curriculum will be challenging to them.

I am the parent of three children who have graduated from DEA. All three attended school there from kindergarten through 12th grade. I feel that DEA provided a safe environment for my children, but it also provided them with a sound academic background. I would strongly recommend it to other parents.

My wife graduated from David Emanuel Academy, and there was no doubt where our children would go when the time came. We now have two children enrolled, and a third one will enroll soon. The school provides safety for our children, along with a structured, challenging curriculum. High moral standards are expected. Athletics plays an important part in the students lives, with the opportunity made available to all who wish to be involved. Literary events are also available to all students, and parents are welcome to attend any function in which their children are involved - from sports to literary to class field trips. The family environment found at David Emanuel can be beat by no other school of which I know. I strongly recommend this Academy.
