I have one child that attends SME and one more who will start in the fall. I have been truly blessed to have great teachers for my daughter. Ms. Perry for second grade and Ms. J. Williams for first grade. My child is so very brilliant but she does have some attention issues and they have been truly great about working with us. There was a slight issue that I happended on my childs bus and the principal was great about handling it. She took care of the issue and it's been great every since. I have no problem with the school or it's leadership.

I have two children tha attend Stn. Mtn. Elem. School. They are in the 1st and 3rd grades. So far, I must admit that im not impressed at all with the schools performance. I have experienced nasty attitudes from teachers and front office personnel. The principal seems to be very overworked and quite frankly just plain stressed out. This is displayed in many ways. I am always angered by the way that the teachers talk to the children in such a 'GHETTO' manner. As if we need any help in this area. However with all of these things being said I must give credit where credit is due. My hats go off to Mrs. Sharpe(3rd grade teacher). She is GREAT. I can honestly say that she does her job and genuinely cares for the children. She is in it for more than just a pay check. The gifted program is wonderful.

My daughter and I are new to the city. Stone Mountain Elementary School welcomed us with open arms. My daughter's teachers have been wonderful. I appreciate the principle and my daughters teachers for all of their support and care.

The academics I cannot complain about. My children are doing well academically at SME; just as they were at Redan. However, I have to complain about the teacher and administrative involvement in controlling students (bullies) and keeping parents informed on what is going on in school. Children don't always tell their parents what is going on it is our duty to find out.

SME is a great school. There are some minor issued that need to be worked out. But overall it is a wonderful school.

Overall SME is a nice school. My daughter has been there from 1-4 grade. I would like to see more field trips though and possibly security measures in place.
