Very competitive academically. Plenty of opportunities for honors, gifted and AP classes. My son entered UGA (tough to get into these days) as a sophomore having one year's worth of credit hours. Plenty of clubs -- you don't have to be a jock to fit in. The sense of community is good, as many of the kids have played recreation ball and whether they get into sports in high school, that time together served my son (and my daughter well)

I went to Collins Hill on my freshmen year (2011-2012) and I found this school to be pretty good. They have lots of electives to choose from and most of the teachers there are pretty good. I moved to Fl this year and I can tell you that Collins Hill is way better than any school down here based on academics. I was an ESOL student and everyone in the program was very nice and fun. ESOL students have mostly all of their classes with especial teachers, though. And you usually have the same students in every class, something that makes you have a closer relationship with everyone else. I did find students out of ESOL a little rude towards the one who had an accent or didnt speak english very well. There was bullying and discrimination. This school has lots of cliques based on your race, or ethnicity. And I knew some people who were on drugs, though I never felt the peer pressure to get involved in that. What I like about this school is that even though they say they have a dress code, you are free to dress however you want (except tank tops or strapless) but appart from that you are free to express your personality, you can even wear a princess costume there (I saw a girl who did)

This school used to truly be a great school, but is now rapidly declining. The school itself is getting old and run down and the students are getting out of hand. The middle school had vandalism and arson while I was there. Arts have always been above average, but are now facing issues. Academics are declining, as you can see in score trends and ranking. The middle school did not make AYP. While this school is still a good school, the future of it is very uncertain, and points to a crash and burn. I had a great time while I was there, but to be frank, I was tired of never winning anything but wrestling. Also, as a last fact, if you ask a majority of the students there who the principle is, they have no clue. It seems no one knows, and no one cares. To sum up: The student body is because decreasingly motivated, the building is falling to age, and the students have no connection to the administration.

We have 3 student that graduated from CHHS. Two are honor students and have excelled in college. CHHS provides leadership. The teachers actually care. Parent participation is exceptional. It's not perfect, but no school is. Overall, a great school.

Quality school. Our son and daughter were in the band. Wonderful program under the direction of Ryan Bybee. They showed maturity, a sense of self and respect for others. This school has positively impacted both of our children. The cultural mix is impressive. The studens seem proud of their school as do the parents. I am thankful that our children attended this school.

I graduated from Collins Hill one and a half years ago and I loved the school. The food was good. The teachers actually seemed to care. I love the different choices you had in classes. For example, I took Oceanography and film my senior year. And the teachers are so passionate about what they teach! Also the difficulty of classes range so much that everyone can learn at the pace they need to. Although I only saw the principal once (at graduation) I think he's doing a great job. The school is clean and a great learning environment. While yes we are very big on sports (And we're good at what we love) there is so much this school offers. From arts, music, dance, etc. There are also student made clubs like an Anime club, running club, science club, film club. You name there probably is a club for it. And if a child wants to create a club of their own it's super easy!

A very good public school. It's known for its great athletics program, and the fine arts program is great too. I'm not athletic at all but I do fine. Most of the teachers I've had have been very good. Some were well-intentioned but not the best teachers. A couple were just bad, but it happens. It would be nice if more foreign languages were offered. Also we don't hear from the principal much - most students don't know what he looks like at all - but he seems to do a good job. Overall it's been a good experience. I mean, I don't LOVE it. I don't wake up every saturday morning thinking 'OH MAN, I WISH I HAD SCHOOL TODAY.' But who does that?

My child is not an athlete and has done amazing at this school. He has flourished in his personality and has become very well equipped for College. He is challenged and encourage. Collins Hill High is definitely where my younger children will attend!

As a parent of two students that go to this high school, I feel that Collins Hill HS has impacted my children. They have become more responsible, respectful, and have grown intellectually. Collins Hill has many programs and clubs in which my children can get involved in. Most of these programs are recognized nationally for their excellence. This school is a great school.

Excellent. My son graduated in 2005 and my daughter will be graduating this year. I receive(d) weekly updates from all their teachers - regularly. I also receive responses to my emails in a timely manner. I was dissappointed when a counselor left and went to a nearby elementary school. My children loved her. The teachers and parents really care about this school and the community. Both of my children were/are athletes. But they have friends who are not and those students have done quite well. It's not only the job of the school to make the child's experience successful, it's our jobs as their parents. GO EAGLES!!!!!

Unless you are an athlete,you are lost at this school. It's not the children that work hard and try to make something of themselves that are recognized by the teachers or principals. It's the athletes. So if your child is not one,this is not the school for you. If you care about you child's education(athlete or not) you need to look for another school.

While there are some good teachers who care at Collins Hill, I have found that most are so entrenched in teaching the way they always have that there is little to no creativity in the instructional methods used. Some additional observations: The school uses very little technology for instruction and worksheets are the norm. Students can't have their test papers because teachers use the same tests year after year. Many students don't even know who the principal is, much less feel any real connection to the school. Try to figure out the grading system! Good luck with that! The star athletes and 'preppy' kids do great, but don't dare send a gifted, creative child to this school and expect anything more than a bored, frustrated kid coming home everyday. Most of the teachers are non-responsive to even occasional emails and don't welcome parental involvement.

Not a very safe school. alot of fighting that is never brought to the attention of parents. Unless your child is a gifted athlete,I would look elsewhere.

I truly love the high school performance. If only the counselors that guide toward career tracks or college guidance were up to speed. I feel that driven children such as my son, would benefit from such excellent counseling rather than having chase various teacher around for their take on what the right approach might be.

My son comes from a small gifted school. I thought he would be overwhelmed but has done very well and comes home with a smile everyday. We have had very good experience with his teachers....they really care and most make it their business to know him. We as parents needs to be there for our children no matter what and when you do teachers notice.
