We moved to the area for its excellent public schools. We are amazed by the wonderful teachers, staffs, and the principles, not to mention devoted parents community working so hard to support the school. We are very glad that we made the decision to withdraw my son from the private school (CCA) where he was losing his self-esteem, and moved further north to be in this wonderful school where we know for sure that our child is LOVED. My son's own words summarize all: Settles Bridge is the best school in the universe!
This is our first year in Elementary and it has been a wonderful year. The principal and assistant principal are wonderfully nice, helpful and most importantly approachable. I have a child that needed special needs and the principal herself took the time to introduce us to the wonderful specials teacher who was even more awesome and got our child into the school program. My other child's teacher and assistant teacher were the best Kindergarten teachers ever! They made the transition into a big school easy for us and our little Kindergarten. The teachers are very supportive, professional and pay great attention to each and every child and great parent teacher communication. Even the Horizon gifted class teacher started the classes as soon as the Kindergarten children got accepted into the program. It was wonderful news to us as we did not have to wait until the next school year for our child to start the program. Best of all everyone greets you with a lovely smile and the teachers are very helpful and nice!!!...The school has an extensive website and you can view each teachers web page through the school website great tool to keep parents informed. Specials include French, Art, Music and PE classes. The art teacher was awesome and encouraged participation in many art competitions. Lots of fun and excitement during the school year with a wonderful support team from the PTA. Love the school glad we had the best 1st year there and looking forward to many more years to come!!!
Settles Bridge is an excellent school. To the parent complaining about response time, completely disagree. I have ALWAYS received quick response to any question I have. Perhaps this parent is one who demands more than their fair share of time? The 'new' adminsitration has been excellent. Styles are different but still great. I have five kids, and they have attended SBE for seven years. We have always been pleased.
It's our first year at this school and overall, I believe it's a good school. However, communication from teachers all the way to the Principle is lacking to say the least. Maybe they are all stretched thin, but as a parent, I would expect more. The amount of time it takes for a response would never be allowed in the business world. I was told the prior principle was excellent, but once the new one took over, things have gone a bit downhill. I don't know the truth to this, but I do know they need improvement in their response times.
Our teachers are great! Thanks to new schools opening in our county, the # of children is much better suited to the schools' capacity this year.
Settles Bridge is a wonderful school. The teachers go overboard to teach each and every student where they are. They are emotiontionally invested instead of just teaching class and going home every day. They truly love their kids!
We have a special needs son and I can not tell you how happy we are that we were able to place him SBE special needs class. Miss Kim and especially Miss Allison have been wonderful and have worked with our son and were able to get him to do things we never thought he would be able to do, at least not this year. This is a wonderful school.
Our family moved to ga from ca, six months ago. Main reason for move for quality education. Settles bridge is amazing on so many levels. Our two boys 2nd & 3rd grade love their new school. The say that the work is harder but so much fun! From the teachers, staff and principal we have to say great job! Our family looks forward to many years at settlesbridge. Thanks everyone!
Settles Bridge is such an amazing school. I have two children (1st & 3rd) and could not be happier. We have had teachers that really care about their students and the accomplishments they acheive. This school is TOP NOTCH!!!
As a certified elementary teacher, I can highly recommend this school. We have had incredible support from all teachers and administration. We have a child with special needs who is also going into the gifted program. From all aspects, the parent involvement and the climate in the school is all positive. As a private teacher, I hear from many parents and the kids themselves how much they love their teachers and principals. The skate nights, family pizza nights and bingo, etc all offer a sense of community. The curriculum is also very forward-thinking. My older child is a product of phenomenal education in 2 other states and in comparison, Settles Bridge is even better. Our previous schools in other states were also tops in the country so this is a huge statement of support for Settles Bridge.
