Wow what a wonderful school! Parsons teachers are nice, kind, and caring. They really get you ready for the tests and obstacles in your life! I would never recommend a different school. They really do make school fun and healthy , it's time for me to get ready for middle! 'll miss parsons!
This is a fabulous school - we have had children in K through 3rd grade, with great teachers with the only exception of 2nd grade (but she is not teaching anymore). Our older son was on the border line of being promoted and the teacher and staff did everything to make him succeed, involved us (parents), extra sessions to catch up, recommended various teaching techniques until we found something that worked! He ended up exceeded expectations and ended up with high grades. Parsons, is great at many levels., teachers are involved, high tech technology (teachers have an online presence - enabling parents to follow lessons and progress), caring counselors, administration that care, and a high quality nursing staff - that listens to parents instead of controlling. Parsons brings children to a bright and promising future.
If your child is an overachiever, it is great. However, if your child needs help, instead of providing needed help, you hear, if don't child doesn't do better in 1st grade, he won't be promoted.
The teachers are very disciplined and instill a fabulous structure of programs. The children are challenged and very much engaged in the activities and various skill development exercises. Though my daughter is only in kindergarten, we still provide her academic homework to do alongside with us. As always, it is still up to the parents to reinforce what is taught in school and to supplement that learning environment at home as well.
Need more communication of what's going on with the children.
From quality of teachers to specials to administration... our first year at Parsons was not very impressive. I found the response time to concerns to be slow, communication from teachers to be lacking, specials to be - well - not that 'special' and I was generally frustrated with the fact that almost every teacher (of which he had three different home room teachers this year) spelled my child's name wrong ... right up to the last days of the year. The school itself is crowded and the middle school is said to be much worse. Also note there will be a new principal for 2008-2009.
This is a wonderful school. It is very academically advanced. My son is in 1st grade and is reading on a 4th grade level. They really push the kids here and we absolutely love it.
Great school with good teachers & principal. Since the school opened in 2001 my son has achieved a lot there. This year he is graduating. Well disciplined & culturally diversified with great test scores.
High Praise For Parsons! This school and its faculties expect each child to be his/her best in academics! 'If it is to be, its up to me' straight of mind.
I love this schhol good high standard and test scores
