Screven County Middle School

The school has good teachers on the most part, and we have a band,chorus,sports teams, however much of the chorus program such as gas for trips and pay for the driver has to come out of parents pockets. My child has had many problems with being picked on and bullied and I feel as if the school should really toughen up on these issues. However,whenever I have had to go to the school with such a problem, they have done everything they can w/in their guidelines. Overall, a really good school, considering the restrictions that the No Child Left Behind state mandates have put on creative teaching.

This is an excellent school. I have been going here for two years now, I am in 7th grade, and I love it! The teachers are wonderful, not all but most ( nobody is perfect!) I have lots of friends, and it is totally safe and wonderful! No student is left behind or picked at. Everyone has an equal chance at suceeding. The extracurricular programs are especially great. And the after school tutoring programs in math and reading help out alot. The school system is just right for kids our age...not too strict yet not too leniant. I wish that every school could say the same. I am also happy about everyones school spirit about the mighty Gamecocks. From football to tennis, I am sure that they have almost every sport possible to perform so no one is left out! All in all this is a wonderful school! good job!
