My grandchildren began school here last year. The staff from Miss Terry on down to our wonderful secretary was awesome! They are caring people. The teachers were great and let me in on all that was going on with the children. My granddaughter reads so well and going into 1st this year. My grandson who is ADHD was able to comprehend math better by the end of the year. I just love these people! The lunches were good too I might add!

My children have been at Temple Elementary for a couple of years now. My first impression of the school was not great, but I quickly realized I was judging it based on the exterior. It is an older school, but inside is very clean, bright and cheerful. Our experience with the teachers, office staff and administrators has been great. The only area of complaint I have is the cafeteria and school food. I am horrified what they are feeding these kids. I have seen a lunch consist of pancakes (carb), hashbrowns (carb), biscuit (carb), orange juice and a gogurt sleeve. And we wonder why childhood obesity is on the rise? I wonder if the food is so junky because we are in a lower socioeconomic area? Regardless, something drastic needs to be done about the school lunches. Please provide better for our children! Overall, a great school.

A school is only as good as the persons who care about it. It starts with the Principal and goes all the way to the parents. You don't have to have a child at a school to be a volunteer. There are many things that require adult supervision. My grands love it because they feel someone cares. Don't be afraid to ask what you can do to help out. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I have only good things to say about this school. Every teacher that Ive seen or heard about at this school is excellent. The only reason I didnt give this school a five star rating is due to the fact that every school has room for improvment. This school is great and my kids have all loved it!

I am very pleased with the overall education that my children are receiving from Temple Elem. The teachers and other staff have what it takes to do the job!

This school has improved in many ways this year. They have bent over backwards to offer parent assisted programs (banking assistance; they even have a parenting center full of resources for parents. (This rarely gets used by some of the whining parents that want to use Great Schools to vent because they are not getting their way!!) TES has added fine arts nights, a Jr. Beta Club, PTO movie nights, etc. My son is in K, and he has learned a lot this year. I look forward to him having many of the talented teachers that they have at TES. (They have great female and male teachers.) If a parent does not like how a CRCT question from a review packet is worded, he should contact the STATE board of education and not slam a teacher at TES.

i agree with the parent who wrote on Feb 9th my child has brought homework home and and I have found in some the the readind that the answer she was expected to give to a multiple choice question wasnt even there or it was worded wrong. How is a child supposed to learn if the assignmens given have such obvious flaws.

I believe this school really cares for the children and work hard to give them the best education they can. They seem to be good with parent teacher communication. I was told I was welcome in the class room at anytime.

My son just started Kindergarten this August. So far I am very impressed with the communication with the teachers. I know what goes on everyday because they use an agenda book for 2-way communication. The teachers are very accommodating to any special situations as well, by far exceeding what I expected. I was shocked to see the other reviews as my experience seems so opposite. It's only been a few weeks but so far I am very pleased. They also require parent involvement by having reading homework (15 min) every night. Also he has 15 min (mon.-thurs.)that he has to work on homework from his homework folder sent home weekly.

I have a daugther that attend here since about Jan of this year. The school seem to be ok for a kindergardner she get alot of homework, which I like. I do agree with one of the other parents you only know how your child is doing at report card time.

I'm al little disappointed in this school also. My child is in the fifth grade and I also never get any papers to see how she's doing. They send them all home at report card time. It's a little late to do anything about it then. She only has 10 students in her math class and the teacher still can't seem to teach her math!

I am very disappointed in the lack of communication and the desire of all the admin. and teachers to keep parents in the dark. I want to know what my child is learning to be sure he has the skills he needs to learn in third so he won't be behind in another year. However out of the last 11 weeks I have received less then 30 papers sent home in every subject. Some graded some not. I have requested twice that I recieve his work to look over. No luck. I think the school is in deep need of new admin. I do not think the teachers care about the kids, my child is way above the reading level he and she is in and making 100's math as well and they just leave them there. They should be moved up and challenged not bored to death!

Temple Elementary School has made tremendous gains in student achievement the past few years. The teachers truly care about the students and treat them in the same manner as their own children. Over 95% of the students in 1st and 3rd grades last year met and/or exceeded standards for the Georgia Criterion Referenced Competency Test in the areas of Reading and English Language Arts. The Reading Curriculum is one of the best in the country and is research-based. It gives the students the word-attack skills to read almost any word in the English language. As a parent I am very pleased with Temple Elementary School. I highly recommend this school.

This coming school year will be my child's third year with this school. I would like to see improvements with parent participation, communication, (we have not even heard from school about start date or open house and it is one week out from start time), major issues with car rider lines and city, renovations, and more.

This school still needs alot of improvements.Starting with a new principle. We have had so many problems out of this school such as communication, willingnes to help, teachers not wanting parent involment, parents not able to eat with kids.Children are still being left behind due to teachers not paying attention. The teachers lack the desire to make a differance they just want a pay check. The principle treats the teachers as if she has to protect them instead of be there boss and teach them to care on top of not being very nice to them.I would not reccomend this school to any one. This school has came so far in the four years that we have had children here. Our school uses a program called Direct Instruction. My son is getting a privite school education for free at this public school! I can not say enough about the program used here to teach(DI) or the administration, teachers, parents. It is the one school in the Temple area that is working like it should.Temple Elem. is the shining star in the Temple schools. Your child will be loved at this school, taught at this school, protected at this school and as a parent you will be informed by this school on your childs progress. Thankyou Temple Elem. You have gave my children a strong and sure foundation! My wish is that county office and board members would bring the middle and high up to where this school starts our children out at!
