It's unfair to say all teachers are only here for a paycheck. It's like saying all parents are horrible and don't teach their kids respect. It's not true. No, we don't live in a fantasy world, so every school is going to have issues. Instead of being negative, try working with us. I can't speak for all teachers, but I'm absolutely swamped, so yes, I forget to check messages. On purpose? Of course not! As for the curriculum, it's set by the state. If you think that it isn't a challenge, come sit in on one of my math classes. Ask every student, even the 'A' students, and they'll tell you all about how hard it is. As for challenging work, the roughest months for me were when I gave challenging work. I was chewed out by so many parents for wanting their kids to succeed. I can't win for losing.

Mr. Holland is the best principal that VRM has every had. Evidently the parent who made the negative comments is misinformed about what Mr. Holland does a principal at VRMS. He geniunely cares about the welfare of the students, teachers, and parents. It is unrealistic to expect massive improvements over the course of one year. Instead of attacking him, try to work with him for the good of the entire school and community. Also, what does his age have to do with his leadership ability? So I take it you did not vote for President Barak Obama?

After reading some of the reviews given by several parents regarding the current principal, I cannot believe they were so negative. As one of the parents says below, he is the best we have ever had. He is very approachable and if you need to talk to him, you can go straight and he'll take you in his office without any previous appointments. I have had several issues and I feel he has always done all he could to assist us. It is not fair to say he is immature and has other interests in mind, Just my thoughts...

The curriculum here is not very challenging to students. We moved to the district from Gwinnett county schools, and my 6th grader is not being challenged at all. I cannot say what exactly the problem is, I guess that the levels of learning differ from district to district. She's gotten straight A's each grading period, which would be wonderful if she were being challenged and being presented with new concepts to learn. She doesn't seem to be made to 'work' for the A. Her teachers hardly use the Parent Portal, while some don't bother at all. To have a teacher return a phone call is like an act of congress. I think they just come to collect a paycheck. Sadly, we won't be returning next year.

I attend this school and I really enjoy getting up every morning to go to it. The teachers don't let us get away with everything. The principal is not a bad princpal. And the assisant principal acts racist if you want my opinion. This is a very good school and I love it.

My child is a straight A student and never gets into trouble, so I am not writing this out of anger, but I truly believe that the new principal is way too young and immature to be running a school like Villa Rica that is in such need of great leadership. He is very unapproachable and he appears to be very much about his own gain and following state guidelines instead of caring for the well being of others. Many other parents echo these same feelings. The assistant principal is very much a people person and easy to talk to and is very concerned about each and every child...he seems to be a very genuine person. I would not, however, recommend sending your child to Villa Rica. It does not appear to have a bright future ahead, and I am so disappointed that my child will not return next year.

I can not believe that someone would make such a negative comment about the current principal. This guy loves our kids (ask them) and has had a positive impact on the school. You really should visit the school and ask to speak with the principal. It seems like the previous post was a personal attack. Best principal VRM has every had. ---Danny
