Northside is an excellent school!! The teachers are very professional and friendly. They work hard to provide their students the most positive and appropriate environment possible. The principal is great, and the facility is clean and well maintained. The students do receive music classes and art is very much incorporated into the student's regular day. I feel very lucky to have my child at Northside!

I would like to respond to the comments that rated the school poorly - I have always been welcomed by the principal - she is warm and kind. I volunteer there every Friday in my child's class and I am very encouraged to volunteer. As for no art programs, I understand concerns, and there is a music program, but do we want our children to learn the skills for life - reading, amth, science, geography, so on - or do we want them to learn how to color and cut and paste. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to buy some art supplies and do some projects at home with your child and let the teachers have more time to teach the children so that we don't fuss about low test scores. teachers can only do so much in a 7 hour day.

I have one child that has just completed grades K thru 3 at Northside and another in first grade. My children have always had excellent teachers that go far beyond their expectations as a teacher. The principle at NSP is always very personable and helpful. In fact, my children love their principle as much as their teachers at NSP. Keep up the good work Northside!

Both of my children attended Northside. I was EXTREMELY pleased. The teachers work very hard to meet every child's needs. If you don't believe it, check out the parking lot after hours. You'll probably see several cars there putting in overtime. I have never been treated poorly there whether by the office staff or the principal.

This is an okay school if you have an average child, but any special needs (either gifted or learning disabled) will not be adequately meet. There are no fine arts programs in any of the early grades schools-music, art, drama. Parent involvement is not really encouraged-I don't really feel welcomed. I have offered to come in and read and tutor, but no one seemed interested in the offer.

The success of students at Northside is acceptable. And some of the teachers are very good, but there is a coldness to the environment. There is no art in the curriculum whatsoever, and the principal does not respond well to parents. The lunchroom is awful.
