I recently graduated from northwest and I feel that it was one of the best schools whitfield county has. The teachers for the most part are great the atheletics are held high in priority but fun all the same and the atmosphere is cheerful and fun. I would def. Recommend this school to any parent looking for a great school for their child.

I love Northwest. I have a Freshmen and a Junior attending. I have been so ipressed with the principal, Ms. Townes, and I love the ninth grade academy. It is a great transition from middle school to high school, and all the teachers at NW are so very willing to communicate with parents and to challenge the kids and help them get involved in school activities. - Marsha Franklin

I am a parent and I agree that Northwest has a great education to offer and extracirriculars are abundant. The discipline code can be overused at this school. I feel that my daughter was given many unfair sentences of suspension.

NHS is a great school. My daughter graduated from NHS last year she is currently enrolled in a large University that I feel that being a student at NHS prepared her for. My son is currently a Junior at NHS. I feel like NHS has challenged my children and provided them with the best opportunities to become all they can be as a student and as a member of the community. My youngest child will begin attending NHS next year and I look forward to many wonderful experiences that I am sure being a student at NHS will offer him.

My children have went to a lot of schools since my husband was in the navy. My sons graduated from Northwest. My oldest son was only there for a year and he really loved the school and the teachers. My youngest just graduated this past weekend he went all 4 years. He liked most of the teachers. As far as the principal goes she was ok. She took a lot of things that seniors get to do away. Overall the school is a great school my sons graduated with honors. We have a great football team and the parents support the team.

Our family and daughter have had a great experience for two years now. The academic programs are available if you want them. Also, the availability of any extracurricular activity is thereif needed. She has excelled tremendously. Her grades have always been high and have remained that way here. Most teachers are very informative (you always have ones that are there for the paycheck). The only problem that I have seen at this school is certain teachers/staff have a tenancy to profile kids due to their appearance. This has NO bearing on a childs academic abilities.

This school is a wonderful school, but iti does lack some things that would be wonderful. We do have wonderful teachers and good sports team! We make sure that our kids learn what the need to for the collage level.

I have been involved with many local highschool atmospheres, including Northwest. Without a shadow of a doubt Northwest High is the most pleasant and clean highschool in this entire area. The overall success and pride of the school is on a much higher level than the three surrounding highschools. I would recommend Northwest to anyone!

Its alright. The teachers are excellent! The location is boring. I mean its dalton, ga. Not very interesting, we are the carpet capital of the world, so what? The ib program shouldn't be taken away. Honors and ap students like myself need that program.
