I am very disappointed in this school. It seems that the staff that I have dealt with do not care about the students and are too lazy to be active responsible adults. My son is only 12 yrs old and should not be expected to be fully responsible for himself. I have a very horrible experience with the principal at this school - he expected me to "take him home and wear his tail out" because a staff member there allowed him to walk off campus 4 miles to his after school care center, without calling me to let me know what was going on. I found all this out later. Its like pulling teeth to get most of the teachers and athletic staff to communicate with me. I will be moving out of this district just as soon as I can for this reason alone.

I have a daughter who went to Wayx Middle and a son that currently attends. Both got excellent instructionthere. All athletic teams have mandatory study hall before every practice. The teachers and administration show great interest in the students succeeding and are very serious about their profession. This is a great school.

I have sons that attending Waycross Middle School. suspensions are constant, and letters sent home to sentence them to alternative schools: Although suspension is neccessary,at times its not always a solution for every type of behavior. The students have no voice, it seems, No resources for help with their issues. While, I believe that children should nt govern the school , I also believe that there should be other soulutions available , concerning their issues in the school system. Many children are thrusted in to criminal atmosphere shortly after being sent to alternative school.

My husband and I were very displeased with Waycross Middle School. My two oldest daughters were 'A' students in elementary school and enjoyed their education. But, they did not like Waycross Middle School and struggled through their years there. I found the staff, especially the administrative staff, to be very ambivalent and unconcerned. At times, even rude. If parents are treated disrespectfully by this schools staff, I can only imagine how the students feel. We have since built a house and our third daughter attends a different middle school and loves it. I have nothing positive to say about Waycross Middle School.
