hated, hated, just dread of going to haymon morris. It was horrible there was fights when i went there 3 in a day! teaches would yell at you for little things. People would get introuble everyday i didnt feel safe there. That why i got to go to a diffrent school in 7th grade because of this.
My kids make good grades and are typical middle school kids, but they have grown to hate school. My youngest son used to be a teachers pet to all of his elementary teachers and still keeps in touch with most of them. His middle school teachers on the other hand, he cant stand, and I dont blame him. The school has an unwritten policy, Us against them. Ive spoke with several of their previous elementary teachers and they have (wispered in my ear) told me they would never move up to teach middle school due to the Principals' policies. I had to accually threaten to sue my oldest sons math teacher if he didnt stop picking on my son and using him as his personal whipping boy. Im really thinking about putting my kids it a private school. I dont want them to dislike school, but they are slowly slipping away. Dont get me started on the CRCT. This test is more about teachers performance than the kids. Because of this the teachers spend wayyyy too much time studying for it to save their own jobs. I will be the first to say that when Pres. Bush introduced this I was all on board, but it has only slowed our kids learning even worse! This test is holding all of our kids back, globally.
Our 6th grader has thrived at HMMS. Wonderful principal, staff, & teachers. It is a structured environment so the students know what is expected of them at all times. If your child does his/her best & shows respect, they will do just fine!
I had excessive amounts of unnecessary homework (to the point that I had to quit church on Wednesdays to finish). The teachers are unorganized, unprofessional, and temperamental. The atmosphere is unsupportive and threatening and you've got to do your best to succeed, then get left behind if teachers and peers don't consider your best good enough. I am extremely disappointed with this school.
I think this school is ok.Most teachers are always trying to get someone in trouble.
I have one child at the school, and as a teacher I would say this school is not where it should be. The math dept. is BAD and the leadeship is not good. VERY over rated school and will be sending my child to private school next year.
I have 2 daughters, that attended Haymon-Morris Middle School. I have never seen such structure, within a middle school. The students are able to thrive here, and although it is extremely structured, I truly believe, the atmosphere is loving, and supportive, it prepares students, as they continue their journey towards High School! My daughters entered this school little girls, and left mature, young ladies.
I just graduated 8th grade at haymon-morris and I have to say I am so glad I am out of that school!! The Math teachers are horrible!! We can't have fun. My parents went every year to get help for me in math and the school said they would do all of these things to help me but nothing every happened! Now my brother has to spend 3 years there! But it is better than some of the other schools in the area.
i am a uprising 7th grader wich means that after this summer ends i will be in seventh . well the school is ok overall alot of my friends call it prison and on diffrent veiws i can see why. i will tell you some good tings about if the school lunchs are pretty good you get recess before or after if you are in 6th grade . you still have little fun things like feild day and prep rallies but not as much as elm. but thats understandable acadimics come first always but you which isnt much fun at all if you are in sports. the bad parts well 1.if you are to disruptive in a class room they send you out with nothing but a book tell me how you are supposed to learn that subject when you read a book therefore you will miss a lesson and fail
I am currently a student there and yes they are very strict but hey it either that or some wild school were fights happen every day. I did enjoy my year there, the teachers helped me alot so i have nothing to complain about.
I am a former student of Haymon-Morris Middle School and I am proud to be a Wild cat. The students are well taught, the teachers do a great job at it as well. I was very upset when I had to move to Gainesville, Georgia. My three years at Haymon-Morris were very successful, and very entertsining. This School is very clean as well. The Janitors work very hard to keep this school in tact for your students. The restrooms are clean, the classrooms are ALWAYS well kept. The food there is exquisite. It is very tasty. This school is perfect. :)
My son has gone to Haymon Morris for 2 years. We moved from a school of over 3000 to HM with a little over 600. For students who make honor roll the principle actually shook their hand. This was a huge difference from the other school. The personal touch was greatly appreciated. My son has not had any problems with being picked on. He has also never once said he didn't like going to school there.
I was a student here in 7th and 8th grade, and i now am going to apalachee high school. The teachers here are a little too strict, but isnt that what every student thinks? haha, anyway overall they teach great. Its a safe enviorment, and there is never any fights ive seen or heard about there. its a very caring place. i would recommend this school especially to students who are doing bad, for this school could possibly help you raise your grades.
HMMS is an outstanding school. Student achievement is the goal. For students to be ultimately successful, the environment must be safe. If that means straight lines and silent transitions...then, I support the efforts of the principal and her staff. Keep up the good work.
Academically this is a great school, except for the math, they need work in that department. The teachers are not parent friendly, and neither is the Principal. They treat the students like military puppets. The school is nicknamed the Military Academy, and for good reason. The students get in trouble for waving, smiling, and what ever you do, don't step out of line.
This is a very good school as far as public schools go. The principal and her staff have excellent control of the students and hold the students to a high standard of respect, discipline, and leadership. The students walk quietly to their classes in a nondisruptive manner and the teachers are there with them as well. There are no uniforms, but there is a dress code which is enforced daily. My son loves it.
I am [g]oing into seventh grade. This is a great and safe school. I wouldn't choose anyother school.
I go to Haymon Morris, and I am in 7TH GRADE. I honestly think Haymon Morris is a great, safe & fun school and I think any student would like to go here. There are no fights I have heard of, no bullying, and there are no people that make nasty rumors. Its a great school & the only thing I would change is instead of having 5 minute recess after lunch, about 15 minutes. Other than that, Its a terrific school with exellent teachers AND students.
