Winterville Elementary School

I like the openness to allow parents to participate. Grandparents and other family members can visit the children and participate in activities during the day as well as on special occasions. Winterville has various activities that involve the community at large as well as the families that attend there. My granddaughter loves going to school, that speaks of her experience by itself. The staff is friendly and recognize when a stranger or unknown person has entered the building, I love that. They verify ID for anyone picking up a child for the first time to make sure that they are an approved person to pick up a child, and they still verify who you are after that. The school is very clean and inviting which makes for a better learning environment. I have sat at lunch and in the classroom many times with my granddaughter and was welcomed by all at the school. The teachers all seem happy and enjoy their work to me. I know that they are very concerned about the total well being of the children and intervein when necessary. I have seen them handle emergencies very professionally even in the presence of visitors.
