Lyndon Academy I am beyond words...Our daughter was in a Blue Ribbon Award school that was supposed to be the best in the area. Due to the over crowding and lack of security, I made the very tough decision to pay for her elementary education. We are only into the first month of school, and I can't believe the night and day transformation in her! The faculty and staff are incredible and the children are so engaged in learning. This was truly a God-send!

I love the fact that at Lyndon my son changes classes. That way teachers are teaching what they love best AND he gets to start fresh with each and every class. It keeps both the teachers and the students more engaged and on their toes. Also, I think the tri-lingual approach to education starting in elementary school is not only unique to the local area but to Atlanta as a whole. It will be extremely beneficial for his future. The school is tough and does have a lot of homework, but it's done with a purpose, and his teachers care and push him to be the best he can be. I couldn't be more thrilled with this school and even though I'm zoned into the best public school in the county, we plan to stay at Lyndon throughout our son's academic career.

Lyndon Academy is the greatest private school! My daughter has attended Lyndon Academy since first grade and has been learning Spanish and Mandarin since day one. This school focuses on my child's future and is preparing her to be a successful, global, adult. I am so proud and confident that my daughter will have a successful future because of Lyndon Academy.

There a several great things about Lyndon Academy - the staff, the facility and the leadership all excel. The friendliness and professionalism is felt as soon as you walk in the door. The children are taught respect and responsibility with a great twist of fun added. I'm not sure you could ask for a better place for a child to grow both academically and socially. We'll looking forward to another great school year!

What I like about Lyndon Academy is that get better and better every year. And that is a good thing. The administration doesn't just come up with what works and stick with it forever. They are constantly reviewing the plans and improving on them. They get rid of what doesn't work and develop new plans as needed. They are very attentive to each child's individual needs. This is a big plus for our family.

Lyndon Academy offers everything EVERY parent wants for their child(ren): small group instruction, attention to each child's needs, caring teachers, extra curricular activities, two foreign languages, an amazing art & music program, and a fantastic administration. My daughter is what you would consider an average student. . . she was getting lost in the shuffle in her public school because her needs just couldn't be met in a classroom of 32 fourth graders. Her self esteem was non-existent and she needed hours of assistance, learning what should have learned in the classroom, at home. Lyndon has been the saving grace in our family. . . we couldn't be happier. As far as what Lyndon Academy could improve upon.. . hmmmm. . . that's a tough one. If I think of something I'll come back and provide this info.

Lyndon Academy has been the best choice we have made on behalf of our child's education. Our child comes home excited about her day and just loves going to school. The teachers and staff are priceless! Outstanding curriculum is down to a Science. We are so proud to say our child scored in the top 5% in the country on her SAT. Lyndon Academy is the BEST school and we look forward to many more years there. Thank you Lyndon!

Lyndon Academy has been such a treasure. The curriculum is challenging and engaging. My son is learning all the basics plus has regular classes for Spanish and mandarin. The school's global approach is that the business world is a global environment. They don't learn to a test. They do learn the critical skill of test-taking. Wonderful music, art, and clubs as well. One thing I love is the lack of constant fundraising. The cost is the cost. You don't get hit with extras all year. Price covers everything. Staff is fantastic and deeply caring.

Great educational philosophy, very reasonable expectations on homework time, very small classes, teachers have great attitudes. Would love for them to follow the public school district calendar for parental convenience, but they have great reasons for not doing so. I've seen my son's skills and confidence increase substantially since enrolling at Lyndon, and he loves it.

Even though my daughter hasn't officially started her Junior Kindergarden year quite yet at Lyndon, I can't help but rave about the school. The communication between the staff & parents is top-notch & its wonderful to already know so many of the staff members by name thanks to the All-day visit my daughter got to do earlier in the year.

We moved our son from a very good public school to Lyndon in the middle of his fourth grade. He was doing fine in public school but was becoming disinterested, only enjoying the "AIM" days when he was pulled out for enrichment classes. He was very reluctant to leave what he knew but we believed Lyndon would be a great fit for him. A year later, when it was time to decide what our plans were for sixth grade, he was adamant about not going back to public school. He loves Lyndon and has truly grown in confidence, attitude, and motivation. They have refueled his desire to learn and his love of school that he lost in the chaos of his class of 34. At the awards banquet last night, I was so impressed to see all that the school has accomplished and reaffirmed that we have made the best choice for our son. I am so thankful for all they have done this year to guide, teach, and inspire him.

My son attended public school from Kindergarten through the first semester of 4th grade. We have a good school in our area and his grades were all A's and B's. However, we felt like he was getting lost. In January of 2013, we were able to get him into Lyndon Academy. The experience has been fantastic. He is engaged and loves school like he never has before. The teachers and staff have really taken him under their wing and his confidence level has grown tremendously. We are so excited to be apart of the Lyndon Academy family. I only wish we had started him in Kindergarten.

If your child is not super smart by Mrs. Murdock's standards, you might be in for big disappointment. My child was 3 years 7 months old when had a full-day try-out at Lindon for the first time. I was told he was ready to start Pre-K, but I thought he was a little too young, not even 4. Next year we were there for a full-day visit again, but were told that my son was not ready?! How can he be ready at 3.5, but not ready at 4.5? I was puzzled to say the least. Then I realized it was April first time around and Mrs. Murdock told me that there were still 5 'spots' available, so my suspicion is they were short of students($$$), therefore my son was "ready". Then next year they could pick and choose, therefore my son was "not ready". My advice, don't keep your hopes up; read their statements, especially those about "global society" & "global citizens". If you get your hopes up, you might be disappointed, just as I was. Maybe my son is not next Thomas Edison; he knows 2 languages and was accepted to CCS in a heartbeat, and I am trilled he is going to CCS this fall. I know now it was God's will!

I can't imagine a better educational experience. The staff are each unique and offer great things. The ability to 'drop-in' and randomly see how my son is doing in his classes is refreshing and comfortable. I love that we as parents are encouraged to assist with as much as we would like, but not judged for the inability to do so. I am grateful for the commitment of everyone there in having my son's (and ALL the children's) best interest in mind.

We have been at Lyndon Academy for one year and the effects have been dramatic for our children. Both our third and sixth grader have blossomed academically and socially at this school. The small class size, individualized attention and caring staff have made all the difference! Our children now love Spanish and Mandarin. They even look forward to math class! The latest technology being utilized in the classroom has also been quite impressive. I highly recommend Lyndon for children of all ages.

" What a powerful statement from a nine year old! I would reccomend Lyndon Academy to all who are truely looking for a "GREAT SCHOOL"!!!

Encouraged by the phenomenal parental reviews of this school, I went to evaluate the school myself as a potential school to send my children to. My husband and I were completely stunned by the level of academics. I enrolled both my children (Jr-K and 2nd Grade) after taking a tour of the school and seeing with my own eyes, the advanced curriculum that they follow at this school. Today was their 1st day, which was a complete success. They absolutely loved the school and both my children said that they don't want to go back to their old schools. I am amazed at their reactions, I had thought my eldest daughter may take some time to warm to the new school, and it makes me happy to see them so positive and enthusiastic about Lyndon Academy, after just one day. My eldest daughter raved about how awesome the class size was, amazed that the teachers had so much time to spend with each child, she thought it was fantastic.

We took our 9 year old granddaughter to NYC during her school break..We had the occasion to interface with several people of Chinese origin...On two separate occasions she spoke Chinese to different people....We were so proud with the direct and immediate remarks that we received about her accent....The first person said her pronunciation was perfect...The kind of Mandarin spoken in Beijing...The expression on the face of the second person was amazing...She was reciting quite a long poem...He said he was in awe...Her pronunciation was so good he said she sounded as if she grew up in China...Needless to say we were very pleased...These compliments are a direct reflection of the quality education she is receiving at Lyndon Academy.

Our son is in his second year here (Kindergarten now). We cannot be happier. We are reminded weekly of the quality of education he is getting just based on what he's telling us and showing us. Most recently he completed a worksheet of a blank map of the world and successfully WROTE in the name of each continent and each ocean *and* he's been reading CHAPTER BOOKS alloud, by himself in bed after we tuck him in ... did I mention he's in KINDERGARTEN!? The staff and leadership go above and beyond to ensure the quality of the education is not only a priority but top notch.

After a year of our daughters attending Lyndon Academy, we could not imagine enrolling them at any other school. The curriculum is excellent and advanced well above that of public schools and other private schools in the area. You couldn t ask for better teachers or administrative staff. When I talk to parents of children in other schools I hear a lot of I like the school, except . At Lyndon, there is no except . Lyndon Academy is everything a school should be and more.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
