If your child is not super smart by Mrs. Murdock's standards, you might be in for big disappointment. My child was 3 years 7 months old when had a full-day try-out at Lindon for the first time. I was told he was ready to start Pre-K, but I thought he was a little too young, not even 4. Next year we were there for a full-day visit again, but were told that my son was not ready?! How can he be ready at 3.5, but not ready at 4.5? I was puzzled to say the least. Then I realized it was April first time around and Mrs. Murdock told me that there were still 5 'spots' available, so my suspicion is they were short of students($$$), therefore my son was "ready". Then next year they could pick and choose, therefore my son was "not ready". My advice, don't keep your hopes up; read their statements, especially those about "global society" & "global citizens". If you get your hopes up, you might be disappointed, just as I was. Maybe my son is not next Thomas Edison; he knows 2 languages and was accepted to CCS in a heartbeat, and I am trilled he is going to CCS this fall. I know now it was God's will!

I can't imagine a better educational experience. The staff are each unique and offer great things. The ability to 'drop-in' and randomly see how my son is doing in his classes is refreshing and comfortable. I love that we as parents are encouraged to assist with as much as we would like, but not judged for the inability to do so. I am grateful for the commitment of everyone there in having my son's (and ALL the children's) best interest in mind.

We have been at Lyndon Academy for one year and the effects have been dramatic for our children. Both our third and sixth grader have blossomed academically and socially at this school. The small class size, individualized attention and caring staff have made all the difference! Our children now love Spanish and Mandarin. They even look forward to math class! The latest technology being utilized in the classroom has also been quite impressive. I highly recommend Lyndon for children of all ages.

This is our daughters first year at Lyndon Academy. She is in kindergarten and doing amazing. Her enthusiasm and love for Lyndon keeps us smiling. We are 100% confident in every teacher Angelina has, each teacher brings something unique to the table. Every day Angelina can't wait to get into the car to tell us what a GREAT day she had. Her schedule if full of a phenomenal curriculum. Lyndon has a system that works! even down to the carpool :) Our family likes to thank Lyndon every chance we get for keeping our little one interested in learning and loving it. We believe there is no other school like Lyndon and will keep our daughter there until she graduates high school. One last thing that really makes a difference is the class sizes are small, my daughter has 11 in her class. Lyndon Academy is PRICELESS!

" What a powerful statement from a nine year old! I would reccomend Lyndon Academy to all who are truely looking for a "GREAT SCHOOL"!!!

Encouraged by the phenomenal parental reviews of this school, I went to evaluate the school myself as a potential school to send my children to. My husband and I were completely stunned by the level of academics. I enrolled both my children (Jr-K and 2nd Grade) after taking a tour of the school and seeing with my own eyes, the advanced curriculum that they follow at this school. Today was their 1st day, which was a complete success. They absolutely loved the school and both my children said that they don't want to go back to their old schools. I am amazed at their reactions, I had thought my eldest daughter may take some time to warm to the new school, and it makes me happy to see them so positive and enthusiastic about Lyndon Academy, after just one day. My eldest daughter raved about how awesome the class size was, amazed that the teachers had so much time to spend with each child, she thought it was fantastic.

We took our 9 year old granddaughter to NYC during her school break..We had the occasion to interface with several people of Chinese origin...On two separate occasions she spoke Chinese to different people....We were so proud with the direct and immediate remarks that we received about her accent....The first person said her pronunciation was perfect...The kind of Mandarin spoken in Beijing...The expression on the face of the second person was amazing...She was reciting quite a long poem...He said he was in awe...Her pronunciation was so good he said she sounded as if she grew up in China...Needless to say we were very pleased...These compliments are a direct reflection of the quality education she is receiving at Lyndon Academy.

Our son is in his second year here (Kindergarten now). We cannot be happier. We are reminded weekly of the quality of education he is getting just based on what he's telling us and showing us. Most recently he completed a worksheet of a blank map of the world and successfully WROTE in the name of each continent and each ocean *and* he's been reading CHAPTER BOOKS alloud, by himself in bed after we tuck him in ... did I mention he's in KINDERGARTEN!? The staff and leadership go above and beyond to ensure the quality of the education is not only a priority but top notch.

After a year of our daughters attending Lyndon Academy, we could not imagine enrolling them at any other school. The curriculum is excellent and advanced well above that of public schools and other private schools in the area. You couldn t ask for better teachers or administrative staff. When I talk to parents of children in other schools I hear a lot of I like the school, except . At Lyndon, there is no except . Lyndon Academy is everything a school should be and more.

Lyndon Academy is like no other school I've ever seen. My daughter gets greeted with a smile and a handshake every morning she arrives at school. As a parent, I am welcomed warmly every time I walk in the door. I also love the fact that parental involvement is encouraged and appreciated. All the kids know each other and have an opportunity to participate in various school and extracurricular activities together. My daughter is learning TWO languages, enjoys participating in the annual science fair, soccer lessons, piano lessons and so much more. And how many schools do you know of that has a club that performs community service projects that are planned and organized by the students!? Lyndon Academy says the future of my child is their priority, and in the four years we have been a part of the Lyndon Academy family, they have never failed to prove that to me. I am proud and honored to have Lyndon Academy as my partner in growing my daughter into a "woman of the world".

Moving our son to Lyndon was the best decision we've ever made. The things that set this school apart for us from other private schools were the advanced curriculum including Spanish and Mandarin daily, the rotating classrooms that keep students stimulated, and the no-added fee tuition. Also, the communication with teachers is excellent, and the administrative staff really makes us feel like we are part of a big family. We absolutely are in love with this school!!!

Lyndon Academy is a school that not only excels academically they care about the welfare of each child. The teachers as well as the administration make it a priority to develop a relationship with each of the students at the school. The children from JuniorK to 4th grade have a sense of unity , respect and admiration for one another. My children love the school and I continue to be amazed at what they acheive academically.

There is not enough space here to say all the great things I can about Lyndon Academy. Our daughter came to Lyndon after being in what is considered a top rated public school district. The curriculum at Lyndon Academy is not only ahead of the public schools but has far more depth. The students learn the core subjects each day in a rotating class format, included in this are classes in Spanish and Mandarin. The school is not just focused solely on academics. They also offer a wide range of extracurricular activities for all interests. We cannot imagine being anywhere else but Lyndon Academy.

Lyndon Academy is a wonderful school focused entirely on educating and enriching children. It is our family's view that many other private schools are more money and status centric and though at first glance look impressive, do not offer an environment or a curriculum that develops children with a love for learning and a broad set of life and academic skills. Our kids love attending Lyndon and that plays a large part in our supporting this school, but their academic progress as well as their attitudes about their work, their peers, their teachers and their world are marked. We find that once people visit this school and compare it with others, its merits are clear. We are excited to have found this thriving environment for our children.

Lyndon Academy is an extremely academic private school. The children learn Mandarin and Spanish as part of the curriculum beginning in first grade. If you are looking for a family centered academically challenging school, Lyndon is your best choice. Their curriculum is light years ahead of the public school system. We love it!

Both of my children attend Lyndon Academy and love it. My daughter was very uninterested in school before she attended Lyndon and is now excited to go everyday. After only a few weeks in Pre-K she is already reading. I can not believe how much she has learned in such a short period of time. The teachers at Lyndon focus on enhancing each students positive attributes. They teach in the style that works for each student individually so as to maximize their learning potential.

We could not be more impressed with the quality of education my daughter is getting at Lyndon Academy. She is a very strong reader and excels in language arts. In her previous school, her gifts were considered different, and something of an oddity. At Lyndon her gifts are welcomed and challenged. She is not different but a part of a higher standard of learning expected of all the students. We are thankful we found a school that values excellence and fosters each child to reach their own maximum potential.

My daughter had been in Lyndon Academy since January 09, and she had been exposed to so many things in such a short time. In less than a month she was learning multiplication and division at Lyndon, when in the public they were still doing addition and substraction with regrouping. The Spanish class is wonderful, not only the kids will learn the language but also the culture of most Spanish-speaking countries. Same with the Mandarin class, my daughter is learning a lot about the Chinese culture and its language. My husband and I were not expecting to enroll our daughter in private school since we are paying daycare also for our younger daughter, but now that I see the difference between public school and Lyndon I can't see putting her back to the public school system in the near future.

This school is excellent in every way. The academic aspect of this school is superb. Learning to read only took a few short months. Spanish is taught daily. Math and social studies are way beyond what I expected at a kindergarten level. My oldest child attended another private school in this area last 2 years, and the education at Lyndon is far superior. There is also an incredible comeraderie among the families, as well as open and warm communication between parents and headmaster/teachers. Tuition is all inclusive and I have never been asked to pay for anything else for my child beyond that. At the previous school, not only was tuition higher, but there was always something else I was asked to pay for on top of tuition, so overall the cost was much higher than it is at Lyndon. I am thrilled about making this choice for my kids.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
