I heard so many good things about Waiakeawaena that I decided to move into the district so that my children may attend. I have three children one of which went through the Waiakeawaena system and two that are currently there. Their academic system is a solid curriculum that helps them learn a variety of areas needed for a successful young child. Teachers there are caring and show aloha to the children. Waiakeawaena offers a variety of extracurricular activies such as Chorus, Karate, Library Menehune, JPO, Track & Field, Band, and Student Council. Parent envolvment has very much increased with our Volunteer activities which includes Veterans Day Project, Annual Food Drive, Quarterly Assemblys, Dr. Seuss Day Breakfast, Kindergarten Kamp, Halloween Parade, Caught being good incentive, Library Book Fair, and our very own PTA (parent teacher association) meetings that offer a parent/child activity, food, and informational info. I would strongly recommend Waiakeawaena.
