I am a parent of a 7th grader who loves her new school & the teachers plus all the students who are down to earth which equates to a great learning environment. Coming from Florida where there is a ton of bullying plus teachers who don't teach, Kealakehe Intermediate is a godsend. My child actually looks forward to coming to school. The teachers & staff make it a great school. Never in my wildest imagination did I expect to actually speak to a teacher on her cell phone about my child, her student. Science is so exciting to have such a wonderful, exciting female teacher to teach hands on plus all the other teachers especially the native Hawaiian teachers make for an awesome education. The media male teacher is #1. Mahalo teachers for the love you show all the students in teaching them. It is a truly a gift! formerly ms new tampa now ms kailua kona

oh, my how awful...look at their testing scores. If 90% is an A and 60% is a D what is 37%.

my brother goes here and this is not a super good school. I have never gone here but i know how it is. The administrators do not care about anything and that is sad. I have friends that came from that school and they are ecstatic about not being there anymore. There is so much bullying and bad things going on there.

This school is not as good as they say it is. I am a student there and this school has a lot of problems. Swearing among students happen daily, fights are inevitable, gossip and rumours travel like wildfires, isolation is common, and drugs/achohol are discussed as if it is no big thing. Also, the administration doesnt seem to try to stop the swearing and bullying that goes on around campus. Kealakehe has a long way to go if they want to earn a good reputation, let alone respect. If you have the opportunity to send your child to another school, do so. It will better influence your child.

Kealakehe Intermediate School has some great extracurricular programs, like Na Kahumoku, an environmental youth leadership program, and its music department is awesome.

I think this is a great school, but they don't take the time to teach our children very well.
