Overhaul? Lack of respect? This is public school people. There are always going to those morons who dont care for school. Its up to us as kids to make and education for ourselves. Kalaheo has some of the most dedicated teachers I have ever had. The type that you can rely on when your in a crisis. The type that will give there own personal time to assist you. The type that you can connect to on both a proffessional and personal level. The teachers radiate the welcoming feeling of ohana. You have no ideaa how much a welcoming environment can impact a child. And what is life out there? Its dealing with people, working together to help eachother achieve one's goals. Kalaheo reflects just that. Its nothing short of a miracle.

Kalaheo is a great school. Many people who criticize Kalaheo should actually attend classes instead of basing their opinions on word of mouth. If you don't like the way the students are taught, please come and teach the classes yourself.

This school has the worst academic programs that I have seen. The teachers show very little interest in their work. They offer plenty of extracurricular activities, they should show as much interest in academics. The grading system needs to be reformed. I would never send my child to this school again.

Hawaii was a very laid back school. The teachers and the students got along so well. I am a California resident now and I miss Kalaheo terribly. At Kalaheo, everyone is very friendly and happy. Everyone possess the aloha spirit.

This school needs an overhaul. Teachers show little concern for the lack of respect they get or receive to their students and are extremely disorganized.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Hawaii used the Hawaii State Assessment (HSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math, and grade 10 in biology. The HSA is a standards-based test that measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Hawaii. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the test.
