Samuel Enoka Kalama Intermediate School has been a great transitioning school from elementary to high school thus far for my 6th grader. All of the teachers help build each individual students character and morale. The teachers are experienced, patient and help guide every student fort heir own success.

My child loves schoo! If it weren't for the awesome staff and teachers at Kalama, his experience of Middle School would not be as memorable. Kalama Intermediate (as we call it) has exceeded my expectations. They deserve recognition and this money! The teachers have always been there for me as a parent, I really appreciate that. My son has ADD and they have been very attentive to my childs' needs. We have been blessed with 6 GREAT teachers. Money can't by happiness, but it sure would help meet the needs of all students with or with out a disablity. Thank you for the opportunity to improve our school. Mahalo Nui Loa!

It is not very challenging, and there are quite a few fights. But if you can get into the advanced classes and don't get into trouble, it can be a good experience.

Last year we switched from Seabury to Kalama for grade 7. Although the kids can be tougher the curiculum was much more challenging and electives had more variety. I'm happy to transfer and really like the school.

I am so happy that I chose to go to Kalama! The school is fantastic, despite it's reputation. Honestly, we get all these bad reviews just because some kids got into a fight. Why blame the 900+ students when you can blame the bullies there? The teachers, faculty, and staff are awesome. The work gets challenging over the years. However, I feel the school needs more discipline, as the planning room just doesn't seem to cut it for these imature students. The Honors classes are great, especially because I can be with people of my own kind! THANK YOU S.E. Kalama!

Last year my daughter and I tourd several schools. We spoke with administartors, looked at campuses and websites and talked at length about the different options. In the end the library facilities, the Renaissance Program, After school activities, Advisory activities and things we heard from her friends who went there convinced my daughter that Kalam was where she wanted to go. We havent been dissapointed.

The current school administration 2007/08 school year is making every effort to provide a safe quality learning environment. Just like any other school you have great teachers and some who are ridiculous and seemingly passing time waiting for retirement. Again, you have this at any school or work establishment for that matter. Good students and challenging students. Good support for special needs students. Counselors are fabulous and respond very quickly to concerns. Parents need to be involved in their child's education and school no matter where they are. My 7th grader we transfered in from a private school is loving it. By the way, he is in honor's classes and the work is challenging. Teachers are very on top of their students when they know the parents are interested in hearing about it. I love how many of the teachers even have their own websitesd with passcodes for students.

Kalama School is great! The teachers actually understand what your going through and they try to help you. The work is pretty average, if it was any harder then that would make it way too hard.

I am an eighth grader at Kalama. It's a good enough school (despite it's reputation), most of the teachers are nice; we have a great principal. Our campus is well landscaped, school lunches...Well, they're what you would expect of a public school. But really, Kalama is not a challenge. I have to say, my elementary school was more challenging. Not that an elementary student could do this work, but I mean for the age. I have gotten straight A's since I've gone. Easily. I find I let myself slack because the teachers don't push the students. There are those few who do, but of course, my peers don't like them. Personally, I enjoy a classroom enviroment where the teacher is in control and we actually learn something. Everyday. Not once in a while.

I am a student at Kalama, 6th grade. It is a pretty good school, but separating the grade into 2 groups creates too much rivalry.
