i put a geographic exception request for my child to attend Wheeler and i believe that was the best decision i made in my childs acedemic life. my child is in kindergarten. i chose this school because i wanted my child to have a strong foundation and a good start in her schooling. i am very pleased with my childs teacher and don't think i could have asked for a better teacher for her. i highly recommend this school and definately have no regrets in sending her to wheeler elementary.

We have been very pleased with Wheeler Elementary. My son's teachers are top notch and the entire staff seems to have the "Aloha" spirit. Despite what I heard about public schools in HI, my son is learning as much or more than mainland schools. We are so happy we chose Wheeler!

I love this school. Their speech department is excellent. My daughter was in kindergarten this past year and had a great experience. Wonderful, caring teachers and I am very impressed by the education she received. Very happy that we will be here for 3 more years.

My child will be attending the school systems in HI when we PCS there in Dec, my question is, why aren't any of these schools ran by DoD? This school and it's ratings seem wonderful, Is it easy to get into? What will I need to do? Thank You in advance! Just a Mom in seach of a great education for her child..

I was immediately welcomed with open arms when I arrived at Wheeler, which was such a relief since prior to moving to Hawaii, I homeschooled my son due to his behavioral and mental health needs. The teachers and staff were wonderful. The special education department was amazing; they did everything they could to help my child. From the principal to the office staff, everyone worked together for the benefit of the children. It is truly a one-of-a-kind school!

Teachers that really care and get involved are what you'll find at Wheeler. They make every second count especially with the shortened weeks due to Furlough Fridays. Safe campus which is kept very clean. The agriculture program that is made available to the children is fantastic!

This school is awful. They do not communicate with the parents at all. They run the school like it is an elementary school.

I have 3 boys that have attended this school for the last 3 years. Every Teacher has been great. They hold high standards while caring for each kid individually.

My 5th grader came here in October of her 3rd grade year. I also have a daughter in Kindergarten. I was very nervous about the school. Before coming here you hear the worst things about the education in Hawaii. I can tell you that Wheeler has an amazing staff. My daughters are comfortable there and both are doing well with their education and the social skills they are learning. The teachers are always willing to give the extra time and attention. I feel that the parents that have complaints are usually the ones that do not take the time to actually realize what is going on with their kids. I have never had any issue that has not been immediately resolved by a staff member. Their education, safety, and comfort is ALWAYS first with each person at Wheeler. We will all be sad when they have to leave this great school!

My daughter is in 1st grade there, this school has done great things to help us with her. I loved her teacher last year, and I'm still getting to know her teacher this year, but I can say that I think this school is great! They go above and beyond when trying to make sure your child gets the best education that is needed, my daughter has learned so much in the short period of time she has been there and I couldn't ask for more!
