sure, having a job looks great on your college application, plus it gives the student extra spending money. It doesn't hurt if they have the time to do it.

If during the summer they are not attending dual enrollment college, band/sports camp or volunteering then a job is a must. Even if it's 3 days a week bagging groceries. If I go to work they better be busy too.

Yes. Why do you think we have so many unemployed college graduates? Just because your kid received a Bachelor's degree does not mean they will show up on time, produce results, handle co-workers or manage their finances. Get them in the workplace!

I started working when I was 16, during the school year AND the summer. I did this not because I had to but because I wanted to. My own money and independence. There is no reason a high schooler should not work.

Yes.It will help them to learn the value of a dollar as well as other live lessons, such as money management, budgeting, etc.
