Hello, i went thought the same situation many years ago im currently a high school student in the charlotte area i dont know about middle schools, but here are a list of really good highschools your kid can go, i understand completley how it is to go to a new school and not know what to do.
Mallard creek:known for its football and half of the school is enrolled in AP courses, extremely diverse not just in race but also many kids from different countries are here Audrey kell: more of a rich school but education is top notch hopewell: top school in the whole state
-ive gone to 2 of these schools, if more info needed just ask. i have also have lived in the union county area if info needed about that. :) ps. goodluck81592
I had the same questions two years ago when I moved to Charlotte and I will share with you what I learned. Look at Union County schools versus CMS schools. The high schools I would recommend looking into would be Marvin Ridge, Cuthbertson and Weddington. The corresponding Middle Schools rate well too. Look at the ratings for each on Great Schools and it can help you make a final decision. We chose Marvin Ridge and could not be happier. I hope this helps because I know how hard this decision can be when you live some distance away. 81585
Hi casandraTayor, and welcome to the parent community at GreatSchools.
Here are a few ideas:
First you can look up the schools here: http://www.greatschools.org/find-schools/ You'll be able to compare rankings and read parent reviews and get a good feel for what you're looking for.
Secondly, don't be afraid to talk to your new HR department or even a real estate pro in the area. The HR department can set you up with families that have kids your age at the company you are working for. And a real estate pro knows which areas have the amenities you are looking for.
Finally, the Charlotte, NC area has its own group, and you might find people in your area have asked similar questions already. It's located here: http://www.greatschools.org/north-carolina/charlotte/community.gs?content=1996
