Moving to Martin Co., the elementary and middle schools seem great but I'm concerned about the lack of A high schools. One of my kids will be starting high school soon. What can I do?

Hi poddygirl, and welcome to the GreatSchools parent community.

It sounds like you've already been to http://www.greatschools.org/find-schools/
and have started looking at the school ratings. One thing to keep in mind is that many comprehensive high schools have programs within them that make them very competitive even if the entire high school is not all it could be cracked up to be. Some schools have an advanced AP or IB track, or a STEM program, but those students scores are somewhat watered down with the entire school population's test scores.

Read the parent reviews, and go on a few tours, and hopefully you can find a school with a great program even if the entire school isn't exactly what you were looking for.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
