The curriculum is very good, and some of the teachers are wonderful. Unfortunately, I have to agree that parent involvement is highly discouraged by the administration, and some of the teachers have adopted the same view. The previous description of the administration as being authoritarian is very accurate. I think a lot of parents are hoping for a leadership change soon. It would be really good for this school.

Teachers are excellent motivators and well educated on best teaching practices. Curriculum is vigorous and thorough.

This school's advantages are being a small school, and low student to teacher ratio. Parental involvement levels are poor, I believe mainly because of the School administration's policies and overly authoritarian atitude. Turn outs for student entertainment and sports programs are high, yet the parent relationships with faculty and Administration are lousy. Has it become common practice to allow the students to correct the work of their classmates with out close review by the teacher? at this school, it has. I think Athol needs a change of leadership at our elementary school.
