My two boys attended this school for their elementary years. These were very bright boys, and the curriculum managed to keep them challenged and interested. IMHO, math was particularly well taught. However, the curriculum did fall short in teaching any kind of writing skills except for formal reports after the primary grades. The rigid structure of the classroom setting was very good for my boys-- especially the one with ADHD-- and the small class sizes gave everyone a chance to shine. It also helped students learn to value each of their classmates, in spite of individual eccentricities. Teachers were very dedicated and caring, but did fall behind in their methods of teaching certain areas over time, because they were given little oversight or motivation to continually improve, and wide latitude in adjusting the curriculum to suit themselves. Parent involvement was somewhat discouraged.
my daughter attended public School her first year and now attends Boise Christian for her second grade and as learned more than she ever did in public school her teacher worked with her all year and brought her up to where she needs to be. I feel having less children in the classroom really helps the individuals. I highly recommend this school if you want your child to have a quality education and teachers that really care about their students
Not impressed with teachers. Have spoke with one in particular several times who doesn't seem to really care what the parents find to be important in their child's education. Also the schools website doesn't have her listed with any education to go by her name. I am a bit peeved that a decision can be made by someone who doesn't have the education to make the proper decision. Too much focus on detail and things that aren't important like the exact correct uniform and not enough focus on education. This school doesn't challenge children who need to be challenged. Rather it bores them to death by not meeting their education levels prior to school entrance.
I was impressed by the old school charm and the old fashioned educationed settings here. I am eager to have my daughter in a school where there are uniforms and set standards. The Abeka program is used here and is an excellent tool to continue to challenge her education. The school grounds are in excellent shape as well. I was extermely impressed with the day care facilities on site. It is nice to have both children together during the day when one is in school and the other's in care. The facilities are older, but well cared for.
