Taylors Crossing Charter School 2

Taylor's Crossing was a great a few years ago. When the school got a new principal, things went downhill. Now, there is little to no emphasis on courtesy and kindness, which is part of the Harbor Method. In fact, this school doesn't follow that method at all. The way the high school is called a "college prep" is a joke. The teachers aren't that great anymore. This school has gotten worse each year, and we will not be returning. The staff is plain rude to students and doesn't provide information for parents at all.

This school does not encourage parental involvement and most definitely does not follow its charter of Harbor Learning. There is zero accountability of the teachers and the Board is useless. Our complaint regarding the fourth grade teacher fell on deaf ears even after testimony given from a total of four families that had similar issues with that teacher. A written decision was finally received (20 days late) from the Board and the letter states that since the Board is comprised of volunteer members, they cannot discipline teachers or staff. The Board elects themselves and there is no vote from the parents on who the Board members are. Taylor's Crossing rates much lower than our home school on the school's report card through this site. There are several good teachers at the school, but sadly one teacher can ruin the entire experience. Given the fact that this school does not support parental involvement and constant complaints about this same teacher fall on deaf ears, I would never recommend this school to anyone. It has been so bad for us, that we will never consider a charter school again. We had elementary schoolers and High Schoolers at the school and have been completely unimpressed.

We love Taylors crossing are children have really excelled in all areas from math and reading to Spanish and PE.The school is very in tuned to each indivdual childs learning needs and they find away to get the student the extra help they need.My child gets up every morning without a fight and wants to catch the bus,if we miss the bus she comes undone if she is late for school.Taylors Crossing installs good behaviors and tools our children need to succed in life.
