I read the previous Reviews and Mr. Howard was a great person although not the beloved Elementary School principal, he has since moved on to High School level and works much better there. Now we have Mr. Rex Miller....I love him, he is warm, kind and welcoming, he may not always remember a name, but he knows your face and who your child is. I think the quality of the school has definitely improved with him as the principal, he wants that feeling of Community within our school walls with parents and teachers. I think the previous poster was correct about some of the teachers not going above and beyond, but I would only put about 4 teachers out of the 20 in our school that do the bare minimum and I think probably 4 or 5 as outstanding and the rest are really great teachers, but mostly just do their jobs. I think its that way in most schools my kids have been to. Teachers anymore feel entitled, there is no more a teacher who is hired to do a job and does everything that can to be the best, its more like I was hired for this many hours in a day and that's all I am willing to do and you should pay me a lot to do it. I do wish we could pay them more though.

I don't think Hillview is a school that goes above and beyond in the educational or the community areas. I do love Mrs. Likes, but I don't feel like Mr. Howard has an 'open door' policy like the last person posted. I don't think he is very approachable at all. I think there are a few outstanding teachers, but the majority just do the bare minimum. I think there are much worse schools, but I also believe there are better.

Hillview is a great school with great teachers and leadership. Mr.Howard is a wonderful principal with an open door policy. If you have any questions or issues, he always helps to resolve them. Mrs.Likes, the school counselor, is great! She is always willing to go above and beyond! I couldn't ask for a better group of people to teach and influence my children!
