This school has got it! It is about learning, It''s about the students. It's about success, and the teachers commitment to really teaching. My son when to West Side, and was left in the dust. At West Side you do learn to fend for your self with teachers that have that sink or swim attitude as they push your head under water. If you are a teachers pet, you'll do ok. This alternative school takes for instance algebra and they teach it 7 hours a day for three 4 day weeks and that equals a quarter. There is no home work, everything is taught on hands in class. At West Side there's lots of homework and little instruction. West Side does have a great sports opportunity, however parents better spend a full 2 hours a night doing homework in order for your student to be able to play, good luck getting teachers to respond at West Side. Sad that the West Side High School has no real direction, however the parents and students are awesome. What a relief and blessing this alternative school is. These teachers know how to teach and know the material.
