We are proud of St. Peter School's educational opportunities and family atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more helpful and dedicated faculty and staff members.
We had several children attend St. Peters through 8th grade, but have found that the overall quality of education has declined to the point where we had to move our youngest to public school. It is unfortunate because I had attended St. Peters as a child and have fond memories of going there. Now, revenue is simply too low to support a quality staff (although there are a couple very dedicated teachers). Reason? There are no more nuns to help support quality lay teacher compensation, and class sizes continue to shrink, further reducing revenue needed to hire high quality teachers.
We have found that St. Peter School offers an excellent, nuturing Catholic education. The family atmosphere is tremendous.
I went to St. Peter school for 9 years. Afterwards, I thought I'd do better in highschool than most students. Boy, was I wrong. I was only reccomended for Alegebra I honors whereas other kids were in geometry honors and they had gone to public school. I was the only one out of my graduating claas to go there so it was difficult to make friends because there had been very few diverse cultures at St. Peter's. There was a benefit at St. Peter School. I learned how to be conservative and plolite but at the same time to be myself. I knew the staff very well, and I waasn't afraid to be different. But as far as academics go, there is only a faint difference between the private and public school. Instead of Study Hall, we had religion.
St. Peters is an excellent choice. My preschooler loves going to school. The parents are tremendously active in school activities and the teachers really put forth the extra effort with the kids. I've also found that the communication between educators and parents extreamly good.
The Pre-K 4's is an excellent class. The teacher is very attentive to each child and teaches them without limiting them to age. It's a wonderful school.
So wonderfully pleased by the teachers and staff that make up St. Peter's School - they're always willing to go the extra mile and care about each child. Test scores are significantly above average, and many activities (sports, band, language) are available in elementary school and more is added each year. The principal knows each parent as well as each child. This school will attract you to the Antioch community.
St Peter school builds character and a strong work ethic for the children and a loving community for family!
We love the St. Peter communtity. The time and energy spent to make St. Peter a great school for our children is tremendous. We have been blessed with many great friends through St. Peter and its associated activities.
I went to St. Peter School from 2nd grade to 8th grade. I was dissapointed by my peers and leadership. There was no discipline. Teachers made fun of students. I was shocked. I am glad to not go here anymore.
