I have 2 daughters who have gone through AUGS, the last graduating in 2010. I commend this school and its administration for providing a balanced curriculum and experience for both my girls. There is an excelerated curriculum at AUGS for those students who are more advanced. AUGS has a 10th hour which allows students to get additional help from their teachers. AUGS provides extra-curricular activities and sports so that students have things to do outside of the curriculum. I do not agree with the parents that are saying that AUGS does not provide communication nor assistance. I have never had a problem communicating with any of my daughter's teachers or the administration at AUGS. However, I am not a parent who sends my girls to school and expects the school to do all the work. I am an involved parent. My girls are excelling because of this!

AUGS is a good school. There are many caring teachers and administrators. I have 2 children in AUGS. Their needs have been more than met and challenged. There is ample support if you need it. There is a strong anti-bullying campaign present, with special speakers who exemplify the importance of character in a person. For example a holocaust survivor came and spoke to the kids. I have been a volunteer, and also worked in this school as a paid employee and have attended the district's school improvement program last year. I know that with the limited budget this school operates on they are doing an outstanding job with the resources they have.

I love this school it teaches you great responsibilities and is fun we do things i wouldn't ever imagine doing in school such as a dance every other Friday call TCT . I have gotten better grades over the years just being with district 34 they also have 10th hour which teachers stay and help you with your work it's a truly wonderful school and i haven't had to stay 10th hour because i didn't understand anything. I stayed to hang out with my teacher!the teachers are so nice but don't do anything that will make them turn into the meanest teachers

The review below is exactly how I see this school today. It's embarrassing that when I reveal where my kids attend Jr. High, I get a look of 'too bad'. I completely blame the current leadership for not taking action on some very poor teachers. They just don't care. In 4 years, I've found 1 teacher there that's worthy of teaching. The rest are just paying their dues until they can get into a better district or have tenure and waiting to retire..In the meantime, the kids are truly suffering.

This school is below average and more than willing to accept low standards from their students. It is disappointing that the leadership and staff are not interested providing an atmosphere that focuses on learning and promoting the behaviors that all childeren will need to succeed in life. I have been overall disappointed with this school.

This year I think this has been a greater year for AUGS. The staff is paying more attention to our child's grades. I never had to adress any problems like the years before. Plus the students don't think they want to leave this wonderful school.

I think AUGS is a wonderful school, anytime I have had a question and emailed a teacher I received immediate response. For the number of students that attend AUGS I think the staff does a wonderful job.

AUGS could be a wonderful school if the staff paid more attention to the students' needs and concerns. I've had to go up to this school more than once to address many of these problems. Under all the changes and 'supervision' of the new principals you would think the school would turn out better, but it's just become worse. My daughter will be in high school next year and I just HOPE their staff will pay more attention to the students' and parents' concerns instead of letting them slide the way the staff does at AUGS.
