I went to catholic school as a child and I sent my kids to St. James in hope of giving them an experience similar to my own. I feel many of the parochial schools have priced out the middle class and what s left is the well to do families that can afford the tuition. This creates and elitist atmosphere and many of these families use the school as their social club. This leads to a cliquish like environment for the students as well as the parents. Cliques are inevitable amongst the kids but I was not expecting parental cliques. Too many parents are sending their kids to catholic schools for all the wrong reasons with religion taking a back seat to all of them. St. James is epitome of what s wrong with Catholic schools.

As a St. James alumna, I credit the school with buidling the foundation for me to succeed in higher education and now my career. The small size ensured lots of individual attention and higher expectations. I also am still in contact with many of my classmates because of the continuity of the K-8 classes. Even though I am out of state now, the bonds and relationships I formed while there for 9 years are still strong. I attended public high school after I graduated and found myself better equipped than my public school counterparts for academic success. The individualized experience has convinced me that my children will attend Catholic school as well.

Excellent high-school prep as indicated by the best high-school entrance exams in the area (among both public and private schools). HS teachers are astounded at the level St. James students are at as compared to non-St. Jamer's.

The exceptional administration and faculty of Saint James are all about the students. They are focused on developing our kids into thoughtful, moral, well-educated teens who are certain to excel in high shool and beyond. The curriculum is world-class and the facilities provide a first-rate learning environment for our children.

St. James is an outstanding school with a close knit community of children and their parents. The academics are challenging, the teachers truly care about your children and the test scores of graduating 8th graders are outstanding. When you belong to St. James, you feel as if you are part of a larger family that is working together as a community to give our children the best possible education and social experience.
