We feel as his parents that the administration uses their team against us and decisions about the IEP are not mutual.

Absolutely not, if your child gets placed into the Foundations or Communications program, you've been warned. Very unfortunate.

Our son, has on many occasions, stated " I have no friends" "they don't play with us". "They" don't eat by "us".

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly disagree

Our son during his first year in the k/1 Foundations program had made minimal, if that progress due to the Special Education teacher, in our 2nd year the 2/3 grade "program" he has made minimal progress. We believe this has to do mainly with the lack of inclusion from Adminstration and Superintendents points of view And therefore the special ed and general ed teachers do not have an opportunity for true inclusion to happen.

Amount of homework: Strongly disagree

In the Foundations Program my sons goals are set so low in second grade now that he's just now, started to bring home low level math, and kindergarten level books. It's a shame.

Don't sign into the Foundations Program that is a Special Education program "hosted" at only this school in District 25-Arlington Heights. We wish being new into this "recommended" program that by signing on the dotted line in our IEP, that this current administration does not have your child's best interest as far as inclusion and has the bar set so low, that there is a probable no way into the "main stream" classrooms at your home school, where ever that may be. PLEASE be careful and get as much information before considering moving into D25 with an IEP. Do your homework, as I wish someone/anyone would have warned us that there is No Way Out and there is no attempt at even trying to teach "them" at the current grade level. Our 8 year old child is genuinely feeling isolated as being "labeled" and would we had we been warned, we would have Never subjected him or our family unit to be torn apart while two of our children go to their home school and our son is not welcome there but get his own personal taxi ride to another school. It's a horrible back dated program with little or No light to succeed. Be Careful.

This was a WONDERFUL school about five years ago...as each year passes I become more and more disappointed with the administration. There are still some great teachers left at the school, but they don't seem as happy as they used to be...I wonder why. Parents are not encouraged to be involved. The school has a no bully policy, but it only seems to be enforced 1/2 of the time and not with certain children. The split class program is horrible. It divides one group of kids out of the majority their peers for two years. It makes it very difficult to make friends. If you are bullied as my child is in class, there is no way out for two years. It is really too bad because it used to be such a wonderful school with great programs. The common core program is a joke. We will have to consider a private school for the rest of our children left at windsor.

Excellent teachers and a multitude of clubs to peak the varying interests of the kids.
