Vanguard School is a great experience for those of us who managed to slip through the cracks of a traditional learning environment. The classes at Vanguard are much smaller with more one on one, student-teacher interaction. The small number of students in the school (120 at maximum) make for a closer relationship with everyone, you can become friends with people you thought you never would've talked to at the Home Schools. Perhaps one of the biggest highlights of Vanguard is it's P.E. program, instead of running laps everyday, Vaguard has traditional P.E. every Friday with class P.E. in between. In addition to the normal P.E. program, Vanguard also offers regular camping trips, such as Rock Climbing at Devil's Lake, or Canoeing at the Kickapoo River, and many other activities. Overall, Vanguard School definitely places more emphasis on making school fun and enjoyable, rather than making school being all about standardized testing.

Vangaurdis an amazing oppertunitie who students who have not succeeded in their 'homeschool'. I would ahve never still been in school if itw ere not for Vangaurd. Vangaurd learns from hands on activities and life skills. There has not been a day taht i ahve notw anted to come to school since I started at vangaurd, and finally i am doing great in school. I will graduate earl next year, tahnks to teh help and support that i recieve from my teachers and peers at Vangaurd. I really enjoy the closeness and relationships between teachers and their students. They really amke you feel taht yyou are important.
