Including preschool, my children have now been at St. Paul for 11 years. My husband and I have never waivered once in our belief that this school is the best place for them to be. The teachers and staff are are knowledgeable and accessible. The academics are top notch. There are many extra-curricular activities in which the kids participate. Thank you St. Paul for all that you have done for my kids.
First and foremost, I would like to point out that the 3 star post from a parent regarding Saint Paul's was dated "June 3, 2009". This is right BEFORE the school's move to the far West Side of Aurora. Let's just say that there were some very good reasons moving away from the East Side of Aurora. This is the first year my children have attended Saint Paul's and everyone in the family, including the kids absolutely love the school. Class sizes are small. The teachers really care about the students. The kids are being challenged (FINALLY). They actually have homework! Their classmates have decent Christian values! The parents actually participate in their child's learning. The classrooms all have Smartboards (similar to ones on CNN). Don't let the temporary modular classrooms fool you. The school is set to expand in the next few years. This school is top-notch.
Our grand-daughter loves going to this school where the classes are small, but well structured academically, and spiritually. The teachers are highly qualified and motivated.
St Paul Lutheran School, now at their new location on 85 S. Constitution Ave. in Aurora, is an excellent choice for preschool, full-day kindergarten, elementary and junior high education. As a Sugar Grove resident, I was dissatisfied with the public school's overcrowding and underperforming on the iSAT testing & underfunding of advanced programs. I brought my 2nd, 4th and 6th grader to St Paul this year and am THRILLED with the quality education, personalized attention, family atmosphere, values & character building in a Christian setting. 140+ years of tradition with this school is evident in their solid teaching staff, connected alumni, involved parents and partnership with the church & community. The new location makes it accessible to many of the neighboring communities & convenient to be involved in the many extracurricular activites. This is more than a school--it is family.
St. Paul is a tremendous school. They offer quality education in a Christian environment. The 2009 salutatorian from West Aurora High School was a St. Paul graduate.
St. Paul School has an excellent educational curriculum with teachers who genuinely care for their students. A great student/teacher ration helps children who graduate from St. Paul School leave with a strong, well rounded education that allows them to excel in High School and after.
I am continually impressed by the dedication of the great teachers at St. Paul. My children have been blessed to receive a solid education, along with great examples who teach them about the love of Jesus Christ-along with the Grace He gives to each one of us through His death and resurrection. My children know they are loved by Jesus not because of what they do, but because of He did. For our family, this school is the better choice because of that reason.
What was once a great school is truly slipping away. At one time I wholeheartedly would have recommended St. Pauls. Unfortunately, times have changed and so has my opinion of the school. Spend the extra money & send your child to Aurora Christian.
