My child has been at this school for two years. He loves it and so do I ! The teachers are wonderful. I have personally met a lot of them. The principal is very tolerant and fair. Parents can be critical. I'd like to see them be a principal for a day. I've worked at public schools. Not an easy job.

We have been at this school for 6 years, 2 children attending. Wonderful, tenured teachers. Even those that are newer have been a great experience and our youngest has learned a great deal from Miss Senn's class. She is a great person and teacher. I haven't dealt with Ms.Husinga one on one but I do feel the drop off/pick up situation is out of hand and she, herself as a principal, should be out there running the show. So many parents just don't get the simple task of drop-off. She really should be out there for the 1st full month of school directing or personally stopping traffic to advise or procedure. Many ignorant parent dropping their children off in very UNSAFE places. Someone will be hit. Other than that--terrific school! Kids are very happy also.

Can't believe the reviews of a wonderful principal! We've had nothing but cooperation and respect from the principal at this school. We've found that everyone we've approached at the school from teachers to aides to principal, has been uniformly helpful and open-minded. The key is to approach with your OWN open-mind! Too bad the school doesn't get more support from the district. Have to agree about the report cards - they are pretty useless - they don't tell you a thing despite being very wordy.

I am a parent of a child that has gone through Sycamore Trails and currently have a student attending Sycamore Trails. With my son 90% of our experience was wonderful. We still talk about the room that 'smiles' and Ms. Lenart playing the piano, and of course MS. Mentik made the most impression on my son! The few areas of concern where handled and are no longer a concern. As far as the principal I feel that if you go to her with a reasonable problem with possible solutions she is the best! (Not everyone will agree when it comes to decisions made that involve your child.) But she will defiantly work with you. I'm not thrilled with the report cards and would like to see letter grades with room for comments. The parking needs attention I hate that it takes 20 minutes to drop off in the winter.

The teachers(except for a couple...which is a rarity at any school)are unbelievably wonderful! I have a dichotomus opinion of the principal. She can be quite inflexible, disregarding. At another time, she has a heart of gold going above and beyond the call. A quandary. I have known her since she came to the school. The school is safe, clean, and well run. This has much to do with the principal's effort and skill. The after school SAFE Program seems very well run as well..a blessing for working parents. The new lunch program is 'different'. I wish our schools would contract a healthy food program such as Natural Ovens of Wisconsin. With rising obesity and health issues and lack of daily exercise one would think this would be priority. The cost is just about the same for the healthy alternative. Send a lunch in the meantime!

Great school in a wonderful town with much parental involvement. Some teachers are nationally recognized for their exemplary work. Teachers are highly approachable, but some of them are very old fashioned in their teaching methodology. School has lot of potential for growth, if the teachers are shuffled to suit the grades and only if the principal be more democratic in her thinking. Current Principal is perceived as a very political, uncooperative and close minded individual. Biggest drawback is the lack of school bus and adequate parking facilities. Fun stops when you have to drop/pick the kids. The school street parking is also subjected to adverse parking regulations. You either end walking in the freezing weather or you end up in the long line of congested traffic. Either way it is no win situation. After school, SAFE program is a blessing in disguise for working parents.

At Sycamore Trails, there is a high level of parent involvement in the classroom as well as out of classroom activities such as fund raisers and class trips. The students are respectful of their school and classmates. There are daily 'specials' classes including art, music, gym, and computers. The students have a full day of academics taught by some of the brightest, most caring teachers I have known.
