Roosevelt has to be the best school around. The teachers, staff and Mr. Hayes are so wonderful to the kids, they make them feel like the school is their second home. I wish other schools in the area would look to Roosevelt for guidance on how to run a truely family friendly, kid friendly school.
You can't find a better elementary school in Belleville. It's not too big, not too small, wonderful facilities and amazing teachers. They treat each other, the students and parents like family. It's truly a wonderful experience all the way around.
This school is great. The staff and teachers are wonderful and always available to speak to parents if needed. The learning atmosphere for the kids is top notch. The teachers and staff know every student by their name. They have numerous social gatherings, community service work, and sports for the students to be involved in. The staff treats all students with respect and makes the students feel special. The school concentrates on character of each child and they reward the students for 'doing the right thing'. Every kid needs to know that they are special and unique. Roosevelt Elementary is definitely a student's 'Home Away From Home'.
This place is Heaven! My 4 kids go to Roosevelt and they all feel safe, special, and get all the help they need! From administration to teachers staff and parents, this school has a amazing sense of spirit, pride, community and adesire for learning. Every teacher honestly and genuinely cares for their students in all manners of their lives. Parents are very involved, and it's been great meeting other parents in the community! All school events are well attended and focused on the children. They also believe in not just investing in their educations, but also the content of their characters. You can reach teachers and administrators anytime! The staff has been so loving and are very valuable to our children, family and home, we love Roosevelt! -SuLyn Musselman
Parents generally are very involved in the workings of the school and the way knowledge is evaluated and graded. The school enjoys a nice mix of diversity. Belleville removes kids with behavioral problems to a single school that offers the special care for those kids and another school receives kids who have true cognitive learning disabilities. Art takes a back seat to decent music and sports programs in 118. It is a real shame that more is not done in a creative way to offer a well-rounded program that can be used in adulthood. Roosevelt has some of the best and most dedicated teachers in the district with some receiving national recognition. The staff is serious and efficient while remaining friendly and caring. All in all, a very well tooled atmosphere conducive to learning. Library is pathetic!
At Roosevelt, my daughter feels important. She's going into 5th,been there since 1st, loves it! Lots of extracurriculars, awesome teachers who are attentive and receptive to parental interaction, and they teach music, PE, art, all the extras even though funding has gone down for these significantly. They have a library and good latchkey program, the neighborhood and community support is outstanding, & respect for all ethnicities is strong. There are a wide variety of families from different backgrounds and races, making it a melting pot of culture and understanding. Lots of activities including a campus campout and bonfire for bonding. We love Roosevelt and I know you will too. They also have a reading enrichment program and the kids consistently bring in top testing scores! Academics are stressed here, these kids go to college!
