Meca has been a true blessing. My son has just completed his full year in Kindergarten and I loved the program with the curriculum and structure teaching that the school has. I was concerned at first with the itemized list of fees that were presented at the beginning of the year. However, I soon found out that those fees if added together equal out less than the other private schools that I encountered. I also found out that the parents that scream the loudest in complaints are the parents that owe money or children are either academically not performing or have behavior problems. I became close to some of those parents. They tried to pull me on their side but I just listen. I stumbled on the reviews on this website and decided to become a voice for the school, current parents and students. Meca has out lasted all of the elite Christian school in the area. I think it has been over 20 years of service. So I figure they must be doing something right. They have implemented up to date technology that seems to be challenging to get started but I have seen the growth from last summer to this fall year. Be careful not to talk against God's people (they are not perfect)
MECA- My chid is currently enrolled in the school and I am not the most satisfied. They have been made aware of my childs food allergy but have not made accomedations; instead my child has been made to go without. You can call the office and leave a message for the principal to call you back but they don't return calls in a timely manner. You can go up to the school in the morning to talk but the principal is never in until about 10am on a good day. Some of the teachers communication is not the best either. I have left notes in my childs homework folder and go days with out a response, and when you call up there to talk with a teacher they tell you, you can't speak with them. I paid $300 + dollars for text books and my child has still not recieved books for this year. Also they have events and inform you last minute. They also have $150 giving fees every quarter. Last year during the snow snorm they had an early dissmal but I was not called nor my childs emergency contacts, then I recieved a call at work saying I had 10minutes to get my child because they school was closing. Seriously?? Hope to transfer my child soon just waiting to hear a response back from new school district.
Meca Elementary School My child has been enrolled since PK3. The teachers are AMAZING at what they do. They are really gifted in teaching the children. The administration at this school is TERRIBLE. They do not communicate well with each other here; they have attitudes when you ask them a question. I have had to remind them to post payments on my account due to them not keeping track of my payments. The younger ladies in the office don t know anything about what s going on and do not give messages to teachers or the principal as asked. I have had to show proof that I made payments because they have not documented it. They charge you $40 for a gym fee and they don t even take the kids to the facility consistently. The lunch they have is the worst. I am currently in the process of seeking a new school for my child. They classroom environment is great but to have to go through all the extra problems is not worth the money you have to pay.
I am a current employee of Meca Elementary Christian School and have been for the last 10 years +. Working in this totally christian enviorment has been a blessing to be a part of. Just watching the children grow in our schools teaching and nurturing to be productive men and women of God in our troubled society, is a miracle. I would reccommend highly of any parent to enroll their child or children in Meca School which will welcome, care as well as teach in the right way of living. Mother Jackson
In today's climate in which many of our children are searching and seeking, Meca Christian Elementary School has provided the spiritual substance, educational stimulation and social stability needed to sustain them. I am grateful for the support and teachings the faculty has provided my two (2) children. I have seen the growth and will ever be indebted to them. In comparison to the public school system in the area, there is a vast difference between Meca's educational structure, teachings and environment; there's is more conducive to learning and in teaching the 'whole' child.
