The school is not too bad itself, I just feel that the problem lies with the faculty and staff. There are not enough after school programs and they cut off gym classes to 1-2 times a week. I attended the original Paul Revere Primary back in the early 90's and we had gym class nearly every day. The teachers were so much nicer. Some of the teachers there need classes on how to deal with grade schoolers.

I am a not happy with this school. My daughter's reading scores did not reflect what was on her report card and the schools shows little to know interest in it's kids development. There is not extra activites for the students, they barely go on field trips. I would not recommend this school. The report card system is crazy.

There are no extracirrcular activities. The schools focus is its growing Latino population. While average and gifted children needs are not addressesd and completely overlooked. If you have an above avearge child this is not the schoold district for you. If you're not Latino, this is not the schoold district for you. They are not committed to all kids, just some.

I feel that the feel that the level of academic programs are horrible. I feel that there is s need for more of a racially balence staff, since the schools students are mainly Hispanic and Black. There are only 2 Black teachers. There are no extra curricular activites and since I am at work I have no knowledge of parent involvment.

My child has enjoyed this year in kindergarden. This is my second child that has attended this school. The teachers are all so nice and helpful. But, I do agree with all of the other parents, the principal of this school needs to go to another school for the older childern, maybe High school kids.

I have a child attending kindergarten class here and i have throughly enjoyed it for him as well as myself. The teachers as well as the aides are great, and they seem genuinely concerned and will do whatever they can to help your child learn. The whole experience at the school was great, I would definitely recommend to any parent considering a school for there child.

I have a child here at Paul Revere primary and I just moved from Chicago to Blue Island and I think their curricular program is excellent and the school is well kept. There are very few public schools that are not this advanced. Not only academicly but organized and professionally. The teachers are great and seemed to be concerned about the well being of the children and that does'nt happen to often at a public school.

The Blue Island School district need more before, and after school programs. There are alot of single parents in the area, and there is assistance from the school district. The books fees (registration fees) are just outrageous, and I am a single parent, and to come up with $65.00 for a 5th grader books is unspeakable. The Chicago Public school system don't charge that much for book fees. I can't imagne paying up to $75.00 or more for registration fees when my child advance to another grade level.

This school has been a huge disappointment. The principal is prejudice and is not willing to build productive relationships with the families of the students. I have spoken with several parents who feel the same way, but just don't know what to do to get her out, and calling the regional office to complain is a waist of time. I would not recommend this school to anyone who cares about the quality of their child's education!!!

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
